New Zealand First leader Winston Peters has launched a blistering attack on trade unions, describing them as “A prostitute for the Labour Party” and demanding they apologise to New Zealand First over what he says have been repeated politically motivated attacks against the party.
Peters made the comments as he intensified his election campaign, accusing sections of the union movement, including the Public Service Association (PSA), of abandoning political neutrality and acting as campaign organisations for Labour rather than representing the interests of all workers.
The outspoken remarks come as New Zealand First sharpens its focus on constitutional reform, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the role of public institutions ahead of the 2026 General Election.

I think NZFirst have access to internal polling and they have clearly taken a hit after Nash.
Polls are telling us NZF is 11.5, but Winston believes he is at 20% and so with Polls slipping he is doing the only thing he knows, and that is double down with the malice and spite.
He thinks being cruel will gain him more votes.
It is up to decent people to prove him wrong.

You can’t pretend it’s all play-acting; it’s embarrassing and demeaning and he must be losing voters with his tantrums! Grow up Winston – you’re too old to behave like this! NZ needs strong Unions to support and protect our workers, espectially if RW parties are at the helm, but of course you already know this!

If your voting for NZF and are a member of a union keep what he and his colleagues have supported over the last three years in front of mind when casting your ballot.
If the current regime is reelected expect more intense political attacks on the union movement.
Ironically, this coalitions attack on workers, their sick and holiday entitlements is exactly why unions were created in the first place and here we are decades later back in the same position. Which just gives evidence to how regressive this Government truly is.
Winston is a slut for the rich pricks .Look how many of the rich pricks from the racing industry are paying him to do their bidding .First the dogs and now the community owned race clubs that will be closed and the sale proceeds will be given to the rich clubs that have racked up debt over the last decade .The fly in the ointment is the rich pricks have forced the small players out and horse numbers have crashed .If the trend continues there will be no breeding industry left in the next 15 years .Already a large number of our two year olds are imported from Australia .
Winston bent over and banned dog racing because 13 dogs died in the last year .Did he bother to find out how many horse died in the the same year .As a person who has been in racing for 50 years I can tell you there is very little if any difference.The only difference one lot is run by the gentry and the other by the working class .
