Trump: His inane illegal war in Iran is just the latest manifestation of his malfeasance and his inability to get out of the quagmire Netanyahu led him into means his ability to miscalculate is enormous. His refusal to do anything meaningful to end Putins war in the Ukraine isn’t helping and his ongoing weakness and miscalculations only embolden China to eye up Taiwan. Once he gets smashed in the midterms he will become even more desperate.
Countdown till destruction – 2 and a half years
Climate change: The Godzilla El Niño is here and the ramping up of heat created by human pollution has breached any capacity to stop it now. Once the heat waves hit frozen methane on the ocean floor and thaw out the methane rich permafrost we will see an explosion of heat that will melt the Greenland ice, desalinate the ocean pump in the Labrador Sea and shut down the AMOC which will impact billions of humans. Imagine all the worst bits of the Book of Revelations, but under water.

AI: The speed with which self creating AI can go rogue is now well established. Suppose without AI-assisted research capability improves by 2× every year. If AI makes researchers twice as productive, perhaps the next doubling occurs in six months. The resulting system might then make AI research four times as productive, reducing the next cycle further.
You potentially move from:
2026 → 2027 → 2028 → 2029
to something resembling:
2026 → +12 months → +6 months → +3 months → +6 weeks → …
That’s the classic intelligence-explosion argument.

1). Trump will be diminished if not gone after the midterms
2). Humanity will adapt to a changing climate nor will the change be as dramatic as many Climate cultists are hoping for ala WaterWorld. Life goes on.
3). AI is limited by human stupidity – it’s input is via millennials and later generations – these generations could organize a piss up in a brewery therefore AI once the hype dies down, will be more 3-CPO than T2.
I thought i heard JD Vance say thst he is concentrating on ‘doing the Lords work’ and if that brings about the ‘end times’ that would be a good thing.
Does this lead to the disturbing thought that Trump is actually saving us from the truely crazy people in America right now.
