  1. Oh yes we will be reminded about how Winston got us the gold card in about 100 years as ancient NZ history.
It wasn’t a Peters brainwave, it was more a practical way of streamlining the various components of old age pensions and he wasn’t the first to propose it.
Remember he also tried to introduce a kind of Kiwisaver but his referendum on it was so strongly rejected by voters that he spat the dummy.

  2. Agreed but it’s Five Prime Ministers and five governments, he was a part of the third National government under Muldoon! Muldoon was a big fan of Winston!

Winston is the biggest whining diva in NZ political history, constantly pruning and worrying about his bloody hair and never worrying about his bloody voters.

Says his mission is to undo the “vicious right wing experiment of neoliberalism” and has spent 30 years empowering it and blocking any change to the status quo.

If he wasn’t such an egotistical drama queen and had retired after 2020 he’d go down as one of the great NZ political figures with a lot of respect, the fact he went from attacking labour from not being hard enough on antivaxers in 2021 to being king of the antivaxers in 2022 and has spent four years going further into the sewer means he’ll just be our version of storm thrumond.

    1. Muldoon a big fan of Winston?
I would suggest it is more accurate to say that Winston has shaped his entire political career om Muldoon.

  3. You know what, he was and has been a halfway decent Foreign Minister. And I’m sort of grateful for the gold card a little bit, but going for the anti-VAX nutcase vote has turned me right off him. Not that I was ever on to be honest. It’s always been the politics of resentment with NZ first.
I think he went a little dulaly tap when he became too Māori for the National party. He is still not trump gaga, but not at his sharpest. But as he said most politicians would crawl over broken glass with the baubles of office, and he certainly lived up to that

  4. ‘Winston’! Firstly thanks for the Gold Card – your greatest achievement. However being ‘King’ of the Rabbit Holers and Tinfoil Hat Brigade is not a meaningful accomplishment for a talented politician who could have been brilliant and our PM! Sadly, somewhere along the way Winston, you forgot that you were supposed to be there for the voters – the people, not yourself! A huge error in judgement and way to late to go back and get it right! Martyn states, “This country is failing because Big Polluters, Property Pimps, Banks, Corporations and the mega wealthy use their political influence to lock into place their monopolies, duopolies, oligopolies to ensure plutocracy”. Large important issues that have gone unattended, while your racism against you own people and the Treaty, has appalled me. What an dreadful waste of talent!

    1. Yes, I agree with you Patrize, looking at Winstone’s donors it’s obvious with the fast-track process who he is actually looking after and it is not us. He is also kicking our Māori people in the guts in order to look after his donor’s interest. When are NZers going to get it into their thick heads they do not have to fear the TOW or Māori, it’s the greedy rich who want to exploit our country for their own means and the TOW can and will protect this from occurring.

      1. That is precisely what annoys me. They are quite happy to disparage the Greens and TPM yet blindly think right wing parties are there for the benefit of the people. They have followed the lies they’ve been fed for years and cannot get over the idea that the right knows how to best manage the economy when they have been proved poor managers, every time.
I think I’ve lost another friend this week by telling him it’s not TPM or the Greens he has to fear. He has sitting Labour and Green MPs as candidates in his electorate. Both quite well known and respected. But he will vote for an unknown nobody National candidate because he thinks he’s in the ‘in group’. I keep telling him he’s not in the in-group, he’s just like the rest of us 90%ers. Can’t hear me!

As for Winston, well past his use-by date. Someone offer him a knighthood and get rid of him.
