  1. While our incumbent CoC-up runs around like headless chooks, pecking at this and that to appease their already wealthy doners/bribers, a large number of NZ’ers are falling by the wayside every day! The CTU backs a new report from the Human Rights Commission which details the intergenerational impact of the use of PCP [phencyclidine – a powerful mind-altering dissociative drug] in our timber industry between 1930 and 1988. These failures breach international Human Rights Standards! Despite research backing this up, many workers are still finding it difficult to access ACC to counteract the vile impact PCP has had on their health, their lives, and the lives of their families. The NZCTU is calling on the Government to support the recommendations made by the Human Rights Commission and redress the wrongs, thus ensuring a safer future industry. Surely that is the very least that should be done. Come on Kiwis, we are a brave and supportive bunch, put your weight behind this!
