Is there any proof that going to a university with a flash reputation means you are any better educated or fitted for life than anyone else?
I became a secondary school teacher in my forties and it seemed to me that people who do well at school do just that - they do well at school. Once they leave school, or university, it may be completely different.
Shane Jones and J.D. Vance went to Harvard and they are still tossers.
I remember people I taught in the 'Special' classes. I meet them from time to time. One is now a successful agricultural contractor in Northland, another works as a brake and transmission specialist - two of many.
Does anyone know if Benjamin Franklin went to university?
