That NZFirst and ACT are drawing the support they are for deeply divisive culture war revenge fantasies is the Age of the Deplorable.
Social media hate algorithms are fuelling the Rights calcified polarisation.
They are the deplorables.
But on our side are the insufferable.
The fact that the Polls are telling us despite the economic vandalism and social carnage this Government has wrought with their draconian welfare policies and brutal free market dogma, they are still preferable than us.
That’s a problem and concern.
Our woke activist base alienated everyone we need in the elections.

The Left have to work together to win over those who are alienated and feeling socially disconnected by all the social media hate algorithm polarisation and we do that by acknowledging their economic anxiety and respond with real world solutions that let them know how much they will be saving per week and per month.
We need less Social Justice and its minefields of hashtag offence and way more Economic Justice that makes it clear that it isn’t the kid down the road transitioning who is your enemy, or the Māori wanting the Treaty honoured or the environmentalist angry at failed climate change policy, your enemy is who it has always been, the Banks, the Oligarchs, the Billionaire Class, the Speculators, Big Pollution and the Corporates!
Late Stage Capitalism on a burning planet is brutally failing us all, we need real solutions to the problems in front of us that meaningfully changes the material welfare of the all, not the few.
I’m not looking for Socialism here, just basic regulated capitalism!
Mamdani’s focus on cost of living is how you win without compromising identity because capitalism abuses the majority.

It defies belief! Even with lies galore on billboards, spilling out of loose jaws, on line etc. our media still sit on their hands hoping that National can bring a large rabbit out of their hat! That is never going to happen; firstly because they are a bunch of “no hopers”, only there for their own egos, and secondly, because it’s all about the great God, MONEY. It won’t be long before Kiwis are given a huge wake-up call on Climate and finally some, yes only some, will realise how precious LIFE is compared to MONEY and how lucky we are to be a small, ‘almost’ self-sufficient country at the bottom of this crazy world! Hipkins will be aware when to throw his ‘knock-out’ punch – must be pretty close now! And don’t believe all the mis-information that makes up the so-called Polls – it’s mainly wishful thinking and tampering, along with a huge dollop of brain-washing!

There is no official organized intelligent resourceful funded opposition in parliament or outside it.
That presents an intolerable situation for the many who are marginalized and kept from any real alternative and voice that would make a difference.
The corporate and plutocracy and their money and authority maintains control while there is no one to stand against them.
This problem has been observed by Bernie in the States and the Democratic party like the NZLP here no longer offer any real alternative except to keep the rampaging , corrupted , unregulated neoliberal system in place despite candidates like Obama and his ” vote for change ” that actually means maintaining the polices of the free market while entertaining the masses that their vote will actually change the fundamentals that keep them poor and their fellow citizens protected and rich.

I admire your frustrated aggression as others do on here but in reality its never going to eventuate with the current political parties that register in the polls or sit in Parliament collecting their huge salary and perks.
Until we have a new movement that speaks for all of us with polices and the guts to never back down and has the commitment of people who are selected to represent the many marginalized and abused by the current system and can understand the real enemy and confront them as Bernie has done there will be no change just a continuation of hope and then disappointment waiting for the NZLP and the frightened Greens to even approach the plutocracy and smile while never confronting the real enemy who still push unregulated protection to all those they are part of and are terrified of and are their polling is showing the contempt.

The so called enemies of the people are not universally despite. Sure it is good we have strong banks that can finance our homes and businesses and a secure home for your savings. Corporates pay good wages and both main parties would fight to keep them in the country. There are few Billionaires or Oligarchs and those like Beck or Hart are self made people that many would aspire to copy .Speculatores are admred by many as being prepared to take a risk and depend on their skills in negotiations. Pollution is universally unpopular
Everyone who’s able to enrol should, then everyone eligible to vote should stay in bed, then everyone who pays income tax shouldn’t, then everyone employed should strike for a month, then a year if necessary, then thank me later.
Why? You might ask.
