Indigenous people globally experienced the first wave of exploitative capitalism via colonialism and now centuries later, are now facing the worst of climate change.
Many indigenous people were forced to the fringes of society and are impacted more negatively by climate change, a point our own Climate Commission makes.Β
Here’s the truth that the alt-Right want to mask with their racism.
WHENEVER there is a natural disaster, Marae open their doors TO EVERYONE!
It’s not only Maori who can access these hubs in times of emergency, the entire Community can, and always have!
Marae are crucial nerve centres during national emergencies providing immediate support, help and information.
As the climate crisis gets worse and worse and worse (because the alt-Right refuse to do anything about te pollution created) we must start spending on adaptation, and providing Marae with tis fund is the EXACT sort of policy we should be adopting.
The Greens are bringing real solutions to real issues while the alt-Right are being racist dickheads again.

Is this $2.4 billion going to a trust to generate continueing income to fund marae into the future or is this $2.4 billion to be divvied up amongst 780 marae at $3million each in the next 3 years?
Seen just the one story on this from RNZ. Can understand the backlash based upon what I read. Whether we need to expand Marae past what they already are, I don’t know, but the Greens are not at all good at selling potential initiatives.
