The Liberal Agenda RIP Dolly Parton & Tim Curry

What a terrible 24 hours!
Losing Dolly Parton AND Tim Curry?
What a blow to our cultural foundations.
I was always an enormous fan of Dolly.
Her compassion, her talent, her sense of humour.
She sang working class songs about pain and the reality of poverty and vulnerability in American life.
She was that rare example of what true Christianity actually looks like.
Her plethora of songs spoke to a musical talent that was peerless.
Tim Curry’s body of work marked him as a unique acting talent but it was his paradigm shifting role as Frankfurter that reset imagination and possibility.
My thoughts are with our own Richard O’Brien at Tim’s passing.
Dolly and Tim were trail blazers, we have all been made better human beings for their creativity.
Rest in peace Comrades.

If there ever was a decent billionaire, Dolly Parton was it. But don’t forget we also lost Ratko Mladic.
Aaaaah… The above takes me back through the journals of my memory. I spent more than ten years in the hideous ‘high country’ on our 3000 acre sheep and cattle station trying to remain what I perceived as being ‘normal’ and ‘sane’. I took up smoking and shooting things. I tried drinking at pubs and came to understand that not all bipeds are human and of this earth. ( This is fun and educational ‘ Resident Alien ‘ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resident_Alien_(TV_series)
I soon came to understand that I too was an alien in an alien world. A world occupied by yeah-nah’ers and gidday-maters with a smattering of sweet-as-ers and she’ll be righters.
Then, as time went by and once having discovered the joys of city living I quickly developed a moth mentality in that I became incurably attracted to bright lights, so soon after that I discovered the wonders and delights of wild, youthful sex and the good humoured company of dilettantes. It was about then that I was dragged ( Ba Ha ) to the Ms Transvestite South Island contest in Christchurch by my gorgeous female, human, front bottom special cuddles person . What a spectacle! I was a young straight white farm-boy fellow surrounded by Queens, Dykes and trans people and all in full mince and flounce. I’d finally found my environment! I’m not Gay, I’m not a tranny, I’m a straight white fellow and yet I felt completely at home in fantastic company. If you ever feel left out then go to a rural southland or mid Canterbury pub THEN go to a Gay and Tranny bar. And don’t worry, she’ll be right mate.
It was at about that time that I developed an addiction to film. Oh my God what a wondrous thing. Alice in Videoland witnessed my renaissance. Lonely mountains and mumbling sheep? No thanks, but thanks anyway. I watched everything by everybody including some notably strange and wondrous works. My favourite director is Jim Jarmusch who directed my favourite film titled ‘ Stranger than Paradise’.
Wim Wenders is fabulous. Have you seen The Bothersome Man directed by Jens Lien? Brilliant stuff. I met one of my closest friends in the Cinerama while watching Rear Window by Alfred Hitchcock. So when I see that Tim Curry’s died I get a sense of foreboding and then Dolly. Dolly was meant to live forever.
I get a sense that I’m witnessing a change in the weather. When halfwits have control over us, where psychopaths have more money than developed countries, when the logical fallacy that’s AI is wooing the terminally desperate to abide by a robot who can make horny death rattles over and above meeting some fellow human at a cafe for a fag and a cappuccino and Tim Curry and Dolly Parton are fucking dead!
What the fuck is going on!?
