Bonnie I agree with what you say but please see that these old boots could have sat there for the 30 seconds .After all Maori have had the national anthem and God save the queen shoved down their throats for 200 years and that takes longer than 30 seconds

Clearly they are way to old and like myself should have turned down the offer to sit there and collect a top up of their pension at the rate payers expense .Us over 65 should step aside and let the younger ones decide what things should look like for their kids in the future .Mind you the way they are in central government that might be a disaster

Yes I'm sure that you're correct and that the men have other issues and the Whangamata Community Board would only represent a small section of society, the % of people voting is 1 obvious reason. The political process seems to encourage a certain type of personality on all sides which is usually not the best way to achieve decent results for all the community. Norm Kirk is the first politician that I remember growing up and we have not had someone with his vision since. I can vaguely remember Keith Holyoake as well and the National Party would be a better option if they had someone with his values instead of the free market ideologues that have destroyed the countries social fabric.
I put my faith in a higher power as it's fairly obvious that we are unable to solve the multiple problems on our own.

Perhaps do some research on NZ history Bob. Gordon is correct and then work on your grammar, it is appalling(did dredge?).

Te Reo Māōri was the only language in New Zealand until the 19th century. There was no written word; therefore, they communicated through symbolism. The detailing in carvings, knots and weavings were the way Māori recorded stories; while traditional songs and dances shared the myths and folklore of their ancestors.
