Incidents of AIs escaping users’ control to lie, ignore instructions and pursue goals in harmful ways have hit a new high, according to research that also suggests the severity of deception and misalignment is worsening.
Ummmm.
This is NOT reassuring.
The danger of frontier AI going rogue seems to be increasing by the passing month, NOT decreasing.
It is actively lying and attempting to deceive its handlers now.
The enormous amount of money spent investing into AI is demanding a return, so anyone inside those companies who are warning anything gets dumped, which is what happened earlier this year.
Those dumped staff formed a whistleblower movement warning that AI could destroy humanity by 2027!
We predict that the impact of superhuman AI over the next decade will be enormous, exceeding that of the Industrial Revolution.

What a difficult world we live in, promises like the one below make more sense than current conditions

I know that you don’t want religious views for obvious reasons so I think this is unlikely to be posted but will try my luck anyway.
I am currently residing in a rest home with a terminal disease. I have spent 80 years worrying about the future and realise that worrying has done no good at all; just makes me miserable.
I too fear for my children and grandchildren but what can I do? Even bothering to vote makes no difference.
I’m glad I am the age I am, as I am terrified of robots and out of control AI. Do people really understand how they operate and what we can’t see but is hurtling towards us! If we wanted to, could we stop them? I doubt it! Are they now in control, but we have failed to comprehend that? Yes it’s more than scary. I so fear for my children and grandies!
