NZ First wants to create baby bonuses for ‘pure’ kiwis.
NZ First are openly race baiting the migrant communities who have been asked to come here and work, as if it is their mistake and not ours for ensuring we properly tax the rich to build and fund our public and private infrastructure!
EVERY GOVERNMENT has used mass immigration for lazy GDP numbers. It isn’t the migrants fault that they’ve been invited to work and live in a country that got to 1975 and just decided, ‘Yeah, nah’, to any more infrastructure investment or cultural progression.
Domestic workers eye migrant workers with a bitter mix of resentment and envy. That’s how poorly paid our domestic workers are!
The friction it causes is manipulated by the Right into xenophobia.
We are seeing this throughout the Western world as climate change extremes and societal collapse at the fringes drives economic migrants of desperation.
The solution of course for NZ is Universal Union membership for every migrant worker crossing into work in NZ with automatic enrolment into the Union to ensure no exploitation and that they are paying domestic worker rates and conditions so domestic workers know their migrant worker brothers ad sisters aren’t undermining them.
But the Right want a more toxic narrative than that.
They insinuate that Muslim, Hindu, Sikh, ‘other’, are so alien to our values that they are impossible to assimilate and are instead an existential threat to our democracies.
Really?
Isn’t that selling our values out really cheaply?
How come for such patriotic arseholes, they think so little of the democracy we stand for?
Our nation, Aotearoa New Zealand, whakapapas to a unique Te Ao Māori worldview and an 800 year western democratic tradition that takes us back to the Magna Carta, the values of which have been sharpened and tested over centuries of friction between King and Citizen, Tory and Whig, Catholic and Protestant.
These Western Democratic values hold a gravity to their logic that demands a citizen engage and protects.
Free Speech.
No taxation without representation.
The recognition of the rights of the individual
Freedom of religion
Separation of Powers,
Rule of law
and an independent judiciary.
It doesn’t matter if you are Muslim or Hindu or Sikh or Chinese or Indian – the gravity of our values are such that they are good for every single citizen we have!
EVERYONE benefits from Free Speech, No taxation without representation, The recognition of the rights of the individual, Freedom of religion, Separation of Powers, Rule of law and an independent judiciary!
Add to this the communal values of Te Ao Māori and we have roots to our values so deep and mighty that people coming here to live want to share and adopt.
Being multi-cultural is a strength to our Democracy, it is not a weakness!
The worth of our values as Kiwis is stronger than the neurotic fears of the Right.
With the Treaty anchored as our formation, our traditions, principles, civil rights and freedoms have an intellectual and philosophical weight to them that all people coming here would cherish, support and adopt.
Why is this debate on immigration occurring with a mana-less version of us, dreamt up by the feverish right wing?
We are better than the version the Right are promoting of us this election.

Winston, like Nigel Farage, has always been a puppet of dirty foreigners. As far back as the so-called ‘Maori Loans affair’, when the CIA set up the Lange government as retaliation for mild opposition to American interference in NZ and worked with Peters to ‘expose corruption’ (that CIA agents had invented).

I assume you were there during business hours so I again, assume, you have an explanation. Also, where is that image now. I’ve scoured the internet and can’t seem to find it any longer?
Winston’s position is actually more extreme than that of Farage.
Farage has always distanced himself from Tommy Robinson-style nativism, which remains taboo in polite British society. Farage has also always resisted the narrative of Islam and other ethnic groups as “an intrinsic problem”, preferring to focus on merely illegal immigration.
Winston’s leaning into explicit cultural and racial nationalism marks him as akin to Rupert Lowe’s further right Restore Britain party and to Tommy-style hooligans.
No one other than Bomber is doing justice to the extremism unraveling before us.
