Everyone knows you actually wouldn’t object to a polling station being based somewhere that a National or ACT or NZF candidate had business dealings with.

Teachers are voters and man the polling station too.
Supermarket workers are also voters. Lots of other examples.
We usually vote at a church because it’s handy. I assume they vote too.
Has to be somewhere prominent, good parking, plenty of room, easy access.

The problem is not that a Marae was used it is the fact it was a candidate’s Marae. I am sure there would have protest if a polling station was held in a Labour or National premises.
The whole issue of influence needs looking into no matter who reported the situation and if was done out of self-interest.
TPM cannot use the race card to hide any wrong doing and it will water down their legitimate claims if they usee it to hide behind.
