Meta reaches settlement over social media case
Meta Platforms META.O agreed to pay a maximum $16.68 billion (NZ$28b) and make major changes to Facebook and Instagram.
The settlement was made to resolve claims by states across the US that the company designed those platforms to addict children, misled consumers about their safety, and improperly collected children’s personal data, court papers show.
Meta shares were down 0.4 percent in early trading.

These social media networks have been built by people whose goal is unregulated profit via never ending attention, they enslave adults, they are mutating young people.

The only purpose of these ‘bans’ is to make it harder to talk about the genocide that satanic zionist beasts are inflicting on Palestinians and other gentiles, without being cracked down on by police.
Call me a fool, but how is it that we can’t even tax these fuckers and yet we can somehow regulate them up the wazoo! Seriously, one and one does not equal two here. I smell one of the biggest rats ever, here. Meta like Google, after all, were offshoots of the US defense department. Henceforth, they can easily take a hit if it serves their Govt buddies, of whom, they are still very much connected to. Meaning, why are we being allowed to do this and yet if we try and tax them the full rate, then there’s hell to pay and the US Govt will soon come knocking. Yep, I smell a rat.
Likewise, if addiction and other harmful tendencies are the problem here then what do we call the device that is typically joined to most people’s hip! What do we call the device that most social media flows through and of which most people use to communicate, and more with, every hour of the day! Is this not addiction and why is this not ever seen to be a problem? Why is one a problem and the other, not a problem, unless one is a problem for Government!!
The young tend to get there news and information from here, there and everywhere. They also get to spread this news, even create news of their own from time to time. This makes it harder for government and the big money power underpinning today’s political world, to control the flow of information! ICE overreach, atrocities in Palestine, atrocities in other areas of the world, they see the light of day easier, thanks in no small part to social media and the army of the young.
Controlling the flow of information is really the name of the game here. Likewise, the need to end internet anonymity in order to fully enforce this ban, is the secondary game being played here as well.
When governments all over the world are doing the same thing (implementing social media bans) while forever turning their backs on taxing to the max these big corporations, then rest assured, something ain’t right here!

What has your comment got to do with banning social media for under 16s? You might be referring to social media being one way that big government know everything about us although if people insist on putting their information in a public space they sort of deserve the consequences. Of course it’s a Trojan horse by the powers seeking to control the world although the evidence is available for who the winners will be.
I’d argue big tech is the Trojan Horse, compared to big Govt.
