All New Zealanders are migrants.
Some are racist, unconsciously or consciously biased toward ethnicity.
Some more, some less.
Very good initiative by the Maori Council.

The new word now for racism is unconscious bias. I would like to know how the Maori Council will get rid of that the term makes racism seem not so bad.

Firstly, the New Zealand Maori Council will be convening a National Taskforce to rid New Zealand of racism by 2040. That means working together as a nation to stomp it out through better education and resources, from the sharing of stories and building a better system of race relations. It's incredibly sad that the most optimistic timeframe for achieving this is 2040. That should be an indictment on all of us. If we treated racism as the pandemic which it is, it could be eradicated much sooner than that. Also, the first meeting of the inaugural group will be held in May in Rotorua.” Tukaki said
