The political figure Kiwis view most favourably isn’t even in politics
Dame Jacinda Ardern has been out of Parliament for three years, but New Zealanders still view her more favourably than any of the current political leaders tested in a new poll.
The former prime minister sits comfortably at the top of The Post/Freshwater Strategy’s latest favourability rankings, with 45% of voters surveyed viewing her favourably and 35% unfavourably. (See The Post’sanalysis on this here)
That leaves Ardern with a net favourability rating of +10, up one point since the previous Freshwater poll in June.
What makes that result particularly striking is what comes underneath her: every current political leader and every political party tested has a negative net rating.

People most impacted will be NZF supporters who want a Nuremberg styled crimes against humanity trial for Jacinda and her family.
I think NZF supporters still want public hangings, although some may have mellowed and just demand life in prison for Jacinda and her immediate family.

Jacinda and her colleagues stepped up to confront and protect our sanctity of life when confronted with a killer contagious pandemic.
She was rewarded with her tenacity , courage and empathy and in turn was destroyed by the Auckland lockdown and the authoritarian measures that directly affected many who lost their employment when deciding not to be immunized.
Once again Ardern was overcome with the reaction and resistance of so many when the fear of death began to recede.
Helen said on election night 2005 when asked why she did not receive the gratitude she should have been given- If you wait for gratitude in politics you will always die wondering why you never got it.
Never look for gratitude because you will never find it.
Ardern was the PM we needed to have in our worst moments.
If only she could have taken that energy , compassion , forward thinking and intelligence confronting and reforming what was before and after Covid our serious economic problems with an historic MMP majority could well have been one of our most enduring , successful PM’s
Her legacy is still undeniable and will rank along side our previous wartime leaders.
Her treatment and real threats of death against her and her daughter will forever stain our countries reputation and our own sense of decency.
It’s a pity we weren’t good enough! And like so many of our capable younger people she emigrated to Australia! We will not see her like again to lead our troubled nation.
So popular she can probably never ever live here again. Mayve the only ex politician who couldnt safely walk down a street. That seems like a warped kind of popular

That says a lot about the evil character of the limited number of people who continue to blame her for their own failures. Love your enemies is a divine instruction so the people you appear to support have a limited future anyway.

I don’t want to see Ardern martyred. I’m happy for her to stay in her leafy North Sydney suburb, where she can lap up the admiration of her fellow AWFULs.
I certainly prefer her to any of the present mob, but having said that she had a huge majority and did nothing with it. But difficult to forgive that. And the threats that forced her to leave the country … someone should be in jail for that.
Poor old Hosking and Co. Ranting and raving for years and still can’t get most people to like the leaders they choose. Must be something very wrong with them if most people are immune to their noxious claims.
What a waste of money, time and effort trying to get everyone to fall in behind the untalented Luxon, Seymour and Peters.

Why does ZB continue to employ such failures. You’d think they’d demand a better performance from such well-paid people. Do they have one-to-one meetings with their employees to discuss their failures and what can be done to salvage their under-delivery? It’s been years now and all they have done is play into the hands of the left. People don’t like constant vitriol and threats it seems.

Jacinda Ardern will always rate highly in my estimation. Considering she was ‘tossed in’ at the last minute, and had to learn as she went on, she did an amazing job, especially with the Mosque Masacre, White Island and of course Covid – where much of the world praised her decisive strategy! Winston’s ‘tin-foil hat’ brigade is a bunch of ‘easily led’ no hopers with less brains than the average person. As for the ZB trolls – they are exactly that – self-opinionated, vain and supercilious. The fact that it isn’t safe for her and her family to come back to NZ to live shows what sort of ignorant bullies are out there!!!
