Martyn, your persistent trotting out of ‘Iranian Theocracy’, ‘oppression’ ad nauseam is truly getting tiresome.
When you insert such prognostications into the debate you buttress support for a flagrant war of aggression by buying into the ‘mad mullah’ narrative many of us have been subjected to ceaselessly since 1979. The suffering of innocents in Iran is diminished every time you invoke this.
By all means open a separate debate about the nature of Iran’s theocracy vs the sovereign right of a civilisational state to develop its own form of government but for God’s sake don’t give succour to the war criminal supremacist entities behind these atrocities.
