If UK can find its spine over Israel, why can’t NZ?
Government’s stance on Israel ‘an embarrassment to the country’, Hipkins says
Labour leader Chris Hipkins says the Government’s position on Israel is “an embarrassment to the country” following the decision not to join the UK, Canada, and France in new sanctions.
The UK earlier announced it would ban goods and imports linked to Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank, where it said “settler terrorists” were carrying out the “ethnic cleansing” of Palestinians.
France and Canada announced they would take similar action in an attempt to prevent expanding settlements and growing violence from making it impossible to establish a future Palestinian state.
But New Zealand said it wouldn’t join the move, with a spokesperson for Foreign Affairs Minister Winston Peters saying Aotearoa “has not traditionally used trade measures to address foreign policy issues”.

The UK can have an enormous shift and dump the zionist apologist position and finally get around to sanctioning Israel, we should too!

A major factor in the continuing support for Israel is the false propaganda (claimed to be prophecy) that their restoration in 1948 is a sign from God. Nothing could be further from the truth but most of the Christian world has drunk the cool aid so they blindly support Israel instead of considering the “by their fruits you will know them” instructions regarding people and events.

The spine disappeared when we allowed our independent foreign policy to be re written in favor of the Zionist genocidal land grab strategy.
New Zealand would sell its Mothers if it has a $ sign attached to it.

As long as NZ is a part of the 5 eyes, we will not have an independent foreign policy, and we will toe the line like the good vassals we are. Don’t expect much from Chippy either Martyn, at the moment he is in opposition, and if, IF, he becomes PM, don’t expect him to do or say much then either, just the bare minimum.
The days when both sidesing it made a sort of sense are long over. But as long as people join the U.S. Senate to “defend Israel” the genocide is going to continue.
