Hospitals falling apart under National – Labour

Hospitals are crumbling, maintenance has been cut and patients and staff are paying the price after three years of National’s neglect.
“Up and down the country, our hospitals are in disrepair and unsafe for patients and staff. In multiple sites, rain even leaks into maternity wards where newborn babies and their parents should be safe and dry,” Labour health spokesperson Dr Ayesha Verrall said.
“At Hutt Hospital, a ceiling collapsed during a storm this winter. Water came through electrical sockets and nurses were left dealing with it with mops and buckets.
“At Auckland Hospital, cockroaches have been seen in wards.
“Simeon Brown put patients and staff at risk, and neglected to plan for our growing, ageing population.
“His rapid build wards are on the go slow and some of our hospitals are in a desperate state.
“National promised to fix the health system but instead they’ve made it worse for both patients and the staff who care for them.
“Labour’s Start Work Now plan will invest in repairing hospitals, fixing schools and building more homes. This will create jobs and ensure we have the hospitals our communities need,” Ayesha Verrall said.

Simeon Brown doesn’t give a rat’s ‘A’ about the hospitals falling apart, or for that matter patient safety, and both are way past the emergency level! Brown is so far down the privatisation rabbit hole, he simply can’t climb out! Even if they tried very hard, Labour could not do a worse job. The rot starts at the top but the actual rot in our hospitals is outrageous despite the likes of RNZ and NZ Herald framing the situation as a full-blown “health crisis”! So how is Luxon still supposedly showing 28% party support – beats the hell out of me? Could it be because the “horrible trolls” in the Right are attempting to do the same ‘hit job’ on Hipkins that they did on Jacinda Ardern? If voters are that gullible and unintelligent then they will get what they vote for – another 3 years of this awful, narcissistic, devious and out of control CoC! Your choice at the polls.
So, when labour had total control of parliament for a term what did they do to fix this structural deficit that has been years in the making?
When Labour was in government, I got both a colonoscopy and endoscopy, in fact I was referred by my GP within weeks I received a letter and within four months I had a specialist appointment. Under this current government I have had to wait two and a half years to get an ENT appointment @ the Hutt hospital after two referrals denied, only to be told by the ENT specialist he can’t do anything as it is a post code lottery come back next year. So, in the meantime, my hearing is deteriorating whilst I am paying 33% taxes and need my ears for my job.
