I think it’s significant and worth noting that this decentralized, *local*, “open source” manufacturing by not-for-profit Maker (hardware hacker) communities around the world has been able to supply a range of health equipment, at a time when the centralized, global supply chains of for-profit pharma corporations have failed. Jason Hill’s tribute to the NY makers is one of many I’ve seen online since this crisis began. Yet another argument for peer-to-peer venture communism replacing venture capitalism?

Charlie Knowles, 52, is a surgeon at London's Barts Health NHS Trust. He has written a ballad as a tribute to health workers who have lost their lives fighting Covid-19. Ballad to the NHS - Charlie Knowles "A song I penned to support NHS and other key workers fighting the COVID pandemic. Just a phone voice memo of me and my guitar at home with pictures of those who have lost their lives by helping others." It’s harrowing . But worthwhile to get the picture from that perspective.
Lots of reports have suggested that the majority of people who are infected show little or no symptoms. This makes it seem that there is a threshold of either bodily reaction to the infection or a natural vulnerability that means that once a patient is affected to a certain degree, indicating the need for hospitalisation the prospects of recovery become exponentially worse .
