Fast Track backlash

Auckland councillors vote for ‘nuclear’ option in fiery meeting on fast-track development plans
Anger at residential fast-track developers spilled over at a fiery Auckland Council meeting today.
Councillors voted unanimously to investigate ways to tell those planning such projects they aren’t wanted.
As the Herald revealed last week, the council is considering telling fast-track developers – and future residents – it won’t provide or fund basic services to them.
Staff have taken legal advice on ways for council and its related arms such as Watercare to have a united view and stance on the projects.
They say dealing with unanticipated development is a “thorny, tricky” issue.
North Shore councillor Richard Hills, who chairs the planning committee, said: “The team has been very clear in our opposition to fast tracks, but they seem to be approved no matter what.”
Among the resolutions passed, staff will now look at which legal and regulatory powers are available to ensure the council can recover the greatest possible share of the capital and operating costs of unanticipated growth.
It also wants advice on whether it can reduce the levels of service, or not service at all, such developments.

This is such a rort!
Many of the fast tracked projects are connected to National, ACT and NZF donors FFS!
Companies and individuals associated with 12 of the Government’s original 149 fast-track projects had donated more than $500,000 to National, ACT or NZ First and their candidates!
Seven of the first 23 projects connected to donors were approved under the fast-track regime!
Dumping Auckland City Council with the infrastructure cost so National, ACT and NZF can have their donors interests looked after isn’t what I would describe as responsible social policy.
Here’s what I don’t get about National, ACT and NZF Hate Trolls.
They scream and bitch about da Māoris, da Trans, da Vaccines and da greenies, but are utterly silent over allowing rich companies bribe their way into ensuring their interests while strangling the common good!
Why are National, ACT and NZF Hate Trolls focused on the voiceless and the powerless yet so blind to the powerful manipulating the system for their ends and not ours?
Independent Media is more important than ever, especially in the lead up to the Election. TDB is the largest Left Wing Blog in NZ and we have been operating for 13 years. We get zero funding from NZonAir and we don’t have no rich backers. If you can donate please do so here or directly into our account –12-3065-0133561-56

If Hipkins wasn’t a treasonous coward, he would be promising to wind back all Fast Track approvals, including demolishing any projects that have actually gone ahead, immediately once elected.
Because the hate troll cheerleaders are moronic fuckwits.
Answer to the last paragraph…..Greed…stupidity….naivety….and devoid of any form of critical thinking…
The fast-tracking of developments from this CoC is a disater for NZ. Most have NOT been investigated thoroughly, have NOT had the ‘required input’ and are NOT transparent. So when the Left get in they need to get rid of this ridiculous Fast-track Approvals Bill and bring things back to something resembling ‘normal’. Thank you Auckland Council for standing up to these upstarts and dishonest politicians. What is especially horrible about all this is most of the fast-tracking is for the CoC’s doners/BRIBERS! Just look at Sunfield [a Winton Property development from Chris Meehan who donated to National and ACT and it is being built on a “flood plain” with Climate change coming]! You would have to be mad or just avaricious! Winton/Meehan couldn’t give a damn – it’s all about money / profit / greed!
Question. Labour, Act, National, National, NZFirst, Opportunity, Greens, what size donation, gratuity, bribe is required to get Gst removed from food?
NO GST ON FOOD!
Te Pati Maori the only party that understands taxing food is immoral.
NO GST ON KAI!
