Dr Edwards’ comments are all to the point. Have had recent conversations with a couple of older greenies who are very environmentally focused. One lamented the obsession with identity politics, while the other, who’s a lesbian in the (gay) Menendez-March’s electorate, felt invisible as an older woman when he held a meeting.

Also, I believe that, rightly or wrongly, the general population is fed up with the transgender lobby. Although the violence against women at the aborted Posie Parker meet was committed by a small minority of the trans crowd, it looked as if the trans people were the dominant group victimising the women. So that event brought out existing anti-trans feeling and generated a lot more.

“The Green Party traces its origins to the Values Party, founded in 1972 as the world’s first national-level environmentalist party.”, and from 1991-7 were a part of the Alliance..
The recent events within the current party say “attempted hijack” to me.. Repelling it as they have, suggests to me, an opportunity to reset their policy objectives to better reflect a true green manifesto..
Social justice is the concern of society as a whole, and our government should reflect that, regardless of their shade.. I see the attempt to derail the only dedicated environmental group in a position to effect government policy as an act of sabotage, and disloyalty…
Let this be the point they start sounding like they mean it…. Here’s hoping
