Consider the total power and influence the Taxpayers’ Union has over the NZ media.
The Taxpayers’ Union is a fake Union paid for by corporate dark money to influence rednecks.
The project is to demonise any state spending so that public services fall over and privatise them.
They have teamed up with the National Party pollster Curia who is no longer part of the ethical national body of pollsters.
What an unregistered right wing polling working with dark money propagandists has to say is about as objective as a meth addict wanting to explain why you should lend them some more money.
Despite being bad faith actors, the Taxpayers’ Union has total sway over the entire NZ Political media who breathlessly reported their bullshit 25% Labour poll.
Labour should have said, “We don’t believe fake polls from fake Unions” and put the mainstream media in their place.
Taxpayers’ Union is not here to reflect opinion FFS, they are here to influence it!
Look at the fear they inject into the Right and their total control over narrative…
The Taxpayers’ Union shared part of the video over the weekend, asking: “WTF is a [National] candidate doing calling for a Capital Gains Tax ‘discussion’ but just not ‘for now’. Who is this guy? Sounds as wet as water”.
Muralidhar responded to the post: “I’m obviously in favour of less tax – not more! But the message is clear, No New Taxes under National!” It appears to be his first post on X since November last year.

We should collectively show these bad faith actors the contempt they deserve.

We want politicians spending our money as if they’d worked as hard as the taxpayers who earned it. We argue that new taxes should only be introduced when there are equal decreases in other taxes. We believe in a fair and efficient tax system. We are not a political party, nor are we aligned to any”! How can they spout this BS? They are so Right aligned even to the point of putting out ‘fake’ polls. They have also done nothing to even the economic pay gap between the rich and poor! Three of their members are Ruth Richardson, David Farrah and Jordan Williams. So our pathetic media are all over them like a rash – how does that help those in dire need? Not at all. This is a hoax site, doing nothing of value for the bulk of NZ’ers, but instead pushing their views, which support the wealthy Right to the detriment of the needy on the Left! How can’t some of you see this? Are you so dim? I truly can’t see any valid reason for them to be there at all!
Dim? I would have thought that any attempts to pressure officials to spend public funds on a value for money basis would be welcomed by the “needy on the left”, along with most other people living in NZ.
Try thinking about the values of the Taxpayers Union and you will find that they are not looking for value for money for the “needy on the left”.
Nobody wants the government to throw around tax money like a man with no arms, but at the same time we all know that “value for money basis” is just a dog whistle on the right for cut services to the bone.
