I am supportive to this petition because the issue should indeed be discussed and analyzed in public and it is dubious that this does not happen. Perhaps this online petition will help. Certainly interesting to see the outcome….

I also share some concerns raised by other contributors to this thread, e.g. sketching out that the petition appeals to racist perception and may confuse the actual battle line – a political structure that enables dubious characters to become parliamentarians.

A deeper investigation into party list set-up across the whole parliament would probably reveal a wide array of amazing connections to all sorts of dubious self-serving actors and interests.

You and I are of an age to know people whose whole lives were made quiet hells because of the families they married into. Life became a permanent eggshell walk. They stuck at it because they saw no other choices, and because that is what one did. There were sometimes zero redeeming features, apart from the hope that their children might be an improvement on the status quo.

We know children who lost their parents at a young age too. Mine lost their father, and it was tough, and it stayed tough. The thing about royals is that they have access to vast support networks and resources beyond the ken of commoners. If they still can’t get their acts together, then they probably shouldn’t be royals.

But that’s no excuse for their bad manners, so stuff them.

If Harry can now be paid twice as much as a public speaker than it costs to attend a Covent Garden opera with world class singers, then everybody is nuts.

Would it not be a good idea to see MANA, or another Maori-led group perhaps, developing into the nucleus of a wider “Aotearoa Climate Change Alliance”, encompassing other organizations and individuals?

She is right. It is a grab. Last year I wrote a letter to The Press about Israeli annexation of Palestine and how it looked like a creeping lava flow – whatever it consumes is not going to be Palestinian land again. As Lois notes in The Press in her letters, Gaza is now an environmentally very poor place to live and its not got long left before it becomes unlivable. Which might be what Netanyahu wants, because I assume then he will go for the jugular, occupy the whole place and tell everyone the Star of David rules the place forever and always.

Got accused of being anti-Israeli for my effort. Lois has been too at various points. A silly accusation that gets flung around like water in a water fight. It is not that I was anti-Israeli, but like everyone else I have seen try including Lois, It was because I said that Israel needs to go back to its recognized pre-Six Day War borders.

It has been made easy for them too infiltrate our political system because parties like the Naty Natz encourage it !!!

Well that’s only going to intensify. If we allow ourselves to be ruled by fear, then what value… anything? The sooner we begin to tackle this, the better!

We need to set, or to re-set the basis of our relationship with them. …from one based on ‘giving them what they want in return for finance’ in effect, to one based first and foremost on mutual respect. (of our values!) If we set/ re-set the boundaries now, then we are laying the foundations for a better future – a healthier future with them.
