  1. Chloe Swarbrick should head straight to the Den of the Beast and go full woo on we farmers. Farming and conservation are, or at least should be, a noble collaboration born of mutual goals and best interests between The Green Party and what ever farmers have as a political focusing mechanism. “Yeah, nah! Federated farmers are fuckin’ there for us, remember that mate” did someone mumble? You have to be kidding. Federated Farmers are a society of biscuit nibblers and shuffling mumblers who fawn before urban plump-shinies who range-rover into the countryside from the cities leafy suburbs to thwart rural, radacle progressive thinking while bagging up cockie money. A Sydney pied-à-terre costs huge coin y’know, not to mention the good drugs and hookers.
This is my personal opinion as a sheep, cattle and cropping farmer. You’ll laugh.
Sheep? Great. Beautiful animals but only for their wool. NOT to be farmed to be eaten. After they’re shorn at the break point let them go and lie under the willows to chew their cuds. I remember as a kid being distressed at my mum crying as her fat lambs headed off in trucks to the freezing works. That, was the end of my love of the spicy lamb patties with kg’s of garlic.
Cattle too. Eating a cow is slow yet sure barbarism. We live with these amazing animals who come to trust us, their butchers. We don’t need slabs of cow flesh. We don’t need their skins stretched out over a sofa or a car seat. We have petrochemical plastics for that. Or wool! Or hemp ? Or * plump, ex cockie, natzo politicians arse cheeks. Plenty of that rolling about on our parliament building’s seating.
AO/NZ animal farmers should, yes you should, grow hemp for fun and profit and nothing wrong with a little opium, coca and I nearly forgot, mushrooms. And how about organic vegetables? How old fashioned? The only reason why farmers use fertilisers is because of the pressures the now australian owned banksters crush us with to over produce to pay off the fucking loans and mortgages and let’s not forget council rort’s like rates and their subcontractors who sharpen their calculators and charge like wounded, grain-fed bulls.
We farmers must come to understand that by doing the same things while expecting different results is a tad naive.
I think Chloe Swarbrick would be surprised at just how open to new approaches AO/NZ farmers would be.
