ACT launched this poster on the night Game Show Host Paul Henry’s list membership was announced,
The truth is an estimated 170,000 of our children live in homes below the poverty line , the cost of living is rocketing up, unemployment is up, and our economy is tanking – and it’s all because of the economics and politics of selfishness that ACT promotes.
So, I’ve corrected Henry’s poster to reflect the facts.

The way this country is governed and financed for wealthy donors and well financed interest groups that want their status quo to remain while many of our people are economic refugees in their own country while the neoliberal unregulated economic and social feudal system exploits and robs many hard working people of their rights.
New Zealand is in the shit because good people fail to act while greedy loonies are able to run riot without restraint. Urban dwellers are brainwashed into thinking our economy has nothing to do with our rural agrarian primary industry while farmers think that if they worked just the little bit harder for less while at the same time failing to act while they trot out the old tropes while whining about townies while in reality, farmers, by their lack of direct action push-pull rural and urban into deeper ignorances while having no real idea why which is proving, again and again that, that strategy fills multibillionaires pockets while good people lie on thin blankets in shop doorways while others, our primary industry others often live in miserable loneliness in an average house in a paddock in the middle of nowhere barely surviving while they let hate bond with ignorance which is then carefully delivering prejudices which alienate them from everyone else which is simply a means of weakening the target to make their exploitation easier than falling off a quad bike.
Devolving our societies by using poverty, by peddling a lack of cohesion and a lack of communication is art of war shit albeit with a modern spin.
ACT, is a nothing party. It’s a phoney of a thing. And so is paul henry. He’s a nobody of any real use. He’s farts and bad breath in an ugly shirt. To listen to him and to believe in him says more about those who believe in him than it does about the pompous windbag deployed by the skulking dark-money who put him there.
The reality, our reality, is a simple thing yet invisible by virtue of that simplicity of the complex nature of it. Weird aye? Our reality is far too close for us to see it.
The other angle we need to journey down, in my humble opinion at least, is to create a language that best describes the freak-show of greed that’s neoliberalism. What we think of as ‘neo-liberal-ism’ is… what? What, in effect is [it]?
Neo is a modified form of something older. Liberal. So what is the political definition of ‘Liberal’ In politics, a liberal is a person who believes that government should protect individual freedom, ensure equality under the law, and support social or economic progress. I see… So the waves of homeless people and those living in poverty while we know there are about 130 multi-billionaires are well taken care of then so they must be figments of the collective imagination. -ism. Usage: It creates abstract nouns out of other words to represent a distinct doctrine, behaviour, or prejudice. Well, it sure does that.
I think we need new blood to come here and strip away the -ism’s of bullshit roger and his cronies forced upon us just to get their sweaty, lazy, lying, scheming, little fingers on our money which they could never have earned as, say, an hourly rate.
They have us down here in the mud quarrelling with each other as time slips by while they fly overhead in Gulf Streams to head to their penthouses and pied-à-terre’s in beautiful places. How’s that make you feel, you lovely people living on a cold winter street in a tatty, average city at the top end of one of the most beautiful countries left on Earth which is larger than the UK by about 29 thousand sq kms with a population of a scant few 5.3 million ? I think it’s time we look at the same things differently.
Never fear, Paul Henry is a loose canon who’ll let his mouth run away with him before the election and land ACT deep in it – he’s not a real threat!
This does feel like shooting oneself in the foot when you’re in government – because it clearly begs the question – what have you been doing for the last 3 years?
The biggest cause of poverty in New Zealand is the extremely high cost of housing and rents.
Having the price of houses increase has been bipartisan policy of both Labour and National for the past 30 years as they both pandered to homeowner voters.
Choking off the housing supply using planning regulations isn’t neo-liberalism.
I would add Ada, power and food increases have exacerbated poverty. Soon some might not be able to access water.
Henry is just another self centered prick who thinks he knows whats best for the 90% that are heading to be bottom feeders .Act have assisted Luxon to increase the number of bottom feeders in NZ ,in fact that is the biggest growth area in the last 3 years .If Luxon and act stay another term we will be in deep shit .Luxon says there will be no NEW taxes but that is not the same as tax increases ,like fuel and RUC that will go up after the election just like car rego has gone up $50 this year .
ACT, Seymour and now Henry, are indeed the most selfish and self-absorbed of our politicians. Seymour needs to leave NZ and join Atlas overseas – we don’t want him or Atlas’s sick policies here! He and Henry are more like the ‘Goon Show’; David gets so excited now with Henry on the scene. If you are voting for ACT then you are a traitor to all New Zealanders. ACT are definitely not here for NZ or its people – it’s here for Atlas and ACT! How anyone with any humanity can ignore the appalling stats that show ~170,000 of our children live in homes below the poverty line, also shows the ENORMOUS GAP between the ‘haves’ and ‘have-nots’ which is a result of the top-feeders making sure they get most of the spoils! How can seemingly intelligent adults be so damned GREEDY and SPITEFUL? You don’t have to look too far!
