Ok.
So on the quiet we have been working on and building a brand new website for The Daily Blog.
It has been our first major upgrade since the blog was formed 14 years ago.
I moved us from Voyager to Selwyn Mannings new server, Selwyn helped co-create The Daily Blog.
We were with Voyager who have been great, but Selwyn’s new server is amazing.
Now.
I had internet with Voyager as well, but they didn’t offer me a cheaper rate so I went looking and decided on 2Degrees because fuck Spark and Vodafone and I always try to support local.
I should have stuck with Voyager.
I was a geek enough to got to a 2Degrees store and spoke with the people there too make sure my old Voyager Modem would work with my new 2Degrees hook up and was assured it would all connect automatically and I didn’t need a new modem.
All fine and dandy.
The day arrives and immediately I lose the internet.
The old modem won’t work and it is locked by Huawei so I can’t get into it to change the settings.
Very frustrated that I booked this last month, could have had the modem sent, would have internet.
I was pissed off, but it is what it is.
2Degrees send out a new modem, they assure me I just plug it in and it works.
By the time the bloody thing turns up, I have been off line for 5 days.
The modem arrives, surprise fucking surprise. It doesn’t;t work.
I download their bullshit app for Orbi and it won’t work.
I am now almost a week without internet.
Here’s the kicker – 2Degrees have already billed me for a service I don’t yet have.
It has been a nightmare that never seems to end.
I should have stuck with Voyager.
I am still without internet and it is now dragging into day 6.
Who knows when I will actually get online.
If you are thinking of Broadband, don’t think 2 Degrees.
