Hypocritical and complicit response to protest in Glastonbury
The British PM Keir Starmer’s reaction to the anti-Israeli military comment made by Bob Vylan at the Glastonbury Festival is hypocritical. Starmer heads a government that employs its airforce, the RAF based in Cyprus, to fly over Gaza and report its surveillance results to the murderous Israeli forces that are terrorising the people of Gaza.
Keir Starmer’s willingness to help Israel in Gaza amounts to complicity in what the United Nations has described as undeniable human rights violations. With regard to the RAF, it is sad to recall that a Palestinian pilot lost his life in the Second World War, the year following his brilliant service with the RAF in the Battle of Britain. Racist fascism remains the enemy.
