Announce protest actions, general chit chat or give your opinion on issues we haven’t covered for the day.

The Editor doesn’t moderate this blog,  3 volunteers do, they are very lenient to provide you a free speech space but if it’s just deranged abuse or putting words in bloggers mouths to have a pointless argument, we don’t bother publishing.

All in all, TDB gives punters a very, very, very wide space to comment in but we won’t bother with out right lies or gleeful malice. We leave that to the Herald comment section.

EDITORS NOTE: – By the way, here’s a list of shit that will get your comment dumped. Sexist abuse, homophobic abuse, racist abuse, anti-muslim abuse, transphobic abuse, Chemtrails, 9/11 truthers, Qanon lunacy, climate deniers, anti-fluoride fanatics, anti-vaxxer lunatics, 5G conspiracy theories, the virus is a bioweapon, some weird Bullshit about the UN taking over the world  and ANYONE that links to fucking infowar.

  1. Do we have to simplify and solidify our idea of what sort of person we are? Perhaps decide whether we are greatly influenced by a Mechanical approach or a Musical approach?
Or will we destroy ourselves with cunning schemes.

This drug is taking over the Middle East
Facts about – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fenethylline also called captagon_.
Fenethylline (BAN, USAN) or fenetylline (INN) is a codrug of amphetamine and theophylline and so a mutual prodrug of both. It is also spelled phenethylline; other names for it are amphetaminoethyltheophylline and amfetyline. The drug was marketed for use as a psychostimulant under the brand names Captagon, Biocapton, and Fitton.[2][3] The brand name “Captagon” (or in lowercase as “captagon”) is often used generically to describe illicitly produced fenethylline.
Fenethylline is now illegal in most countries. It is produced primarily for illicit use, which takes place mainly in the Middle East, with some evidence that it is used by Islamist militants and terrorists, as stimulants for gunmen. The illicit global market for the drug was estimated in 2023 to be worth approximately US$ 57 billion.

Every year, 570,000 tons of plastic end up in the Mediterranean Sea. That’s as much as 625 garbage trucks being dumped into the sea per day. But what if there was a way to stop the plastic before it ever reaches the sea?
In the Kukës region of Albania, rivers from three countries come together, along with all their trash. With no proper waste management in place, tons of plastic collect behind a local dam and eventually washes downstream. The result? A floating wall of trash on its way to the sea.
That’s why, in our 27th mission, we partnered with a team that has an ambitious plan to stop the plastic and keep it out of the sea for good.

  2. This sounds to me like a lot of flatulent BS.

This sounds interesting. Too good to be true?

I am a fan of olde English detective stories. In the old houses two and more levels, one way of injuring and even killing the unwanted person, was to stretch a dark thread across the stairs pulled taught at about ankle level. Tripping down in the semi-dark, the victim would take a big tumble. I do hope this new system, isn’t going to result in some mishaps and even falls.

  5. Something to consider. https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/565049/thousands-of-over-65s-earn-more-than-200-000-should-they-get-nz-super
The pension system and income support and indeed general wage levels for low to medium income have been dropping to a level that is unreasonable for a moderately wealthy country like NZAO. Why should the wealthier not realise that and have some small setback in their expectations while the poor are getting the boot?

and – it seems this is a bit late to be of use – was that deliberate or unconcerned?

The clock is ticking down on KiwiSaver members’ last chance to get $521 in their accounts, from the government.
It was announced in this year’s Budget that the government would halve the member tax credit to a maximum of $260.72, and remove it for anyone earning more than $180,000 a year.
That means the current KiwiSaver year, which expires at the end of Monday, is members’ last opportunity to get the $521.43 that had previously been offer – and for the highest earners to get it at all.
To qualify for the full amount, members need to have contributed at least $1042 in the 12 months to 30 June…
