The numbers that are damning the NZ Economy and Society

GDP grows by 0.8% in first quarter of year

The .8% GDP growth was driven mostly by currency fluctuations that benefit primary exports, but those numbers hide a truth other numbers expose.

  • Net migration fell with a loss of 47,100 Kiwis in 2024, the largest number recorded.
  • Young people aged 18 to 30 made up 38% of the 72,000 departures.

  1. luxon thinks an 0.8% growth rate for the 3 months is fantastic .Just look back to 2022 and look with envy at the 6% growth of a well run economy coming out of a world wide pandemic .
So much for the skin head gang leaders laser focus .Maybe he should seek advice from the real gang leaders on how to run a growth economy .He needs to get rid of the housewives of the bee hive as well they are sinking the ship with there vile hate toward the real people of NZ who may not be sorted but they do vote every 3 years .

Even if we had a keating type to introduce some decent reform it would get repealed if it didn’t suit the hollowmen.

NZ goes backwards because there’s no bipartisan approach on key areas like health, education, infrastructure and housing.

Every national led govt reduces our capability and stops or refuses to do the required work by kicking those cans down the road.

The numbers dont lie, people are departing because they see no future here with this wrecking crew and a nest being shit in wherever possible it seems by jones, bishop, hoggard, brown, ACT etc.

Seeing Ruth still at it from her TPU sinecure and the obligatory once over lightly effort from Tame……depressing.

The mother of the mother of all budgets is unrepentant Who else saw Q&A on TVNZ last Sunday and the Jack Tame interview the mother of the mother of all budgets Ruth Richardson?

And who else developed instant Taurettes as they saw her try and justify some of the most evil and reprehensible decisions every made by a New Zealand Government?

  3. It is plain that neither of our major parties can be bothered to address the major problems plaguing our country. The minor parties aren’t much cop either. Neither gender wars nor cowboy hats build houses.

The first thing that needs to go is neoliberalism. Check out this video by GJ Murphy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYyalJMXROw

No party will achieve anything of substance until they reject this crap. And, NZ has real problems that must be resolved. Paying lipservice to anything while neoliberalism reigns is fatuous – neither growth nor social justice can be achieved under neoliberalism. It must go, and so must any fool that professes it.
