Let’s dive in with an update on Panquake – the BEST social network ever developed!
For the first time ever, select external users outside of the Talk Liberation team now have access to the Panquake Test Net and are trying out the Panquake application for themselves. This is a landmark milestone!
These new users are creating profiles, posting ‘quakes’ (messages) on their timelines, following and interacting with each other and even scheduling ‘Thunderquakes’ – a powerful type of message with enhanced boosting capabilities.
What is a Thunderquake? A Lovequake? A Cupquake? What, for that matter, is a Panquake? How are these cute but silly sounding names going to change the way you communicate online for the better? To catch up on the original vision of Panquake which we have stayed very much true to, check out this 30-minute explainer video from Founder Suzie Dawson in the earliest days of the project. Or if you want to see how innovative what she designed is and learn all about Panquake’s powerful custom functionality, the Panquake interface reveal is a vibrant watch.
We are collecting our test user’s impressions, thoughts and suggestions and incorporating them in preparation for future Panquake releases. This is a really big deal for our project and you, our community, and a great sign of things to come. Here is a portion of one page of the feedback form our external test users fill out and send us once they’ve had a chance to play with Panquake:

Many of you directly helped us to get this far and we are so excited to take these awesome steps forward for you.

Date announced for the Bad Banki lawsuit
Meanwhile, our debanking saga takes on a life of its own. It all started with the Bad Banki campaign, the antagonist of which is our Icelandic bank, Islandsbanki.
The Judge postponed our hearing in Reykjavik on April 3rd but we WILL see our day in court this coming June 11th and will advise you of the outcome.
However, what happened next may blow your socks off.
The chicken and the egg
On 2nd May, Panquake Founder Suzie Dawson was debanked by Kiwibank. This is a New Zealand state bank that Suzie banked with for almost a quarter of a century. She has not committed any crime or even been accused of any crime. So how can this occur you ask? We also want to know!
Suzie’s epic 5,000 word opinion piece exposed Kiwibank’s malpractices for all to see. Kiwibank and Islandsbanki – which was the chicken, and which was the egg? Why does it seem like there is a hidden flow of information and behind-the-scenes decision making that we are not privy to, between banks in different jurisdictions?
Suzie’s investigations raise serious concerns about the integrity and objectivity of financial organisations. You can read the follow-up expose at this link and be blown away by the incestuous nature of the players involved in the banking industry as well as their apparent conflicts of interest.
Kiwibank refused to state a reason for debanking Suzie – who is a New Zealand citizen, a New Zealand tax resident, a business owner and a longtime NZ bank customer.
Never one to be bullied though, Suzie sought the help of Kiwibank’s regulator – the Banking Ombudsman, and after exposing Kiwibank’s obstruction and stonewalling of her complaints has received hundreds of documents containing startling revelations.
The complaint against Kiwibank continues and we suspect Suzie is by far not alone in this predicament. Subsequently, just as we did with #BadBanki, we are soon to launch an awareness campaign in New Zealand to test just how widespread these abusive bank practices are, and to provide an outlet for remedy to those without a voice.
Have you or someone you know been debanked? Tell us your story anonymously
Last year banks filed a massive 4.6 million Suspicious Activity Reports in the UK alone, with almost complete immunity from liability. It is unlikely that all of these people being reported on are money launderers or terrorists, yet the consequence for customers being flagged can be disproportionately severe.

We have been tracking global news stories and collating the latest headlines to hit the media at this page as the debanking crisis takes the world by storm. If you also have been subjected to bad treatment by a bank, you can share your story with us and we will publish it anonymously.
In an increasingly cashless society, banks must not abuse their power against ‘the little people’. By sharing our experiences and encouraging others to as well, we at Talk Liberation are hoping to accelerate reform of the banking industry together with you.
