Rather than end this bleeding wound of injustice on Ukraine and aggression from Russia (yes yes we’ve all heard about the MINSK promises that weren’t followed to the letter but hardly justify an invasion), Trump its trying to cut a deal on mineral extraction deals, much of which is in the territory Putin has just seized!
Trump is effectively subsidising Putin as much as he’s taking from Zelensky!

Those ‘promises that weren’t followed to the letter’ meaning “daily shelling of schools and other high priority zionist targets by the Zelensky regime”? Hmm
The primary madness is that there really are bugger all commercially viable mineral deposits in Ukraine.
Sure there are substantial deposits, but that means nothing unless they can be mined for a profit.
The narrative has gone from rare earth metals, to rare minerals, to minerals, and now it appears there is a bit of shale oil and not much more.
Rare earth metals are everywhere. The issue is that deposits are rarely concentrated, and the metals tend to exist together and are extremely difficult to separate which is necessary for their unique properties.
The US has relied too heavily on China for rare earth metals, and the Chinese are much more advanced in separation techniques. Now that China is restricting exports of the rare earths to the US, it seems nothing more than panic by Trump as he realises China holds 70% of the reserves and controls virtually all the processing.
What is even more bizarre is how Shane Jones was claiming mining down in Reefton was rare earths. Mind you, his ignorance in claiming GST on exported minerals amounted to 100s of millions (it is 0) shows that the man is almost as deranged as Trump.

For reasons known to only yourself you omit to mention the two decades of clearly stated pleadings and warnings from Russia that US driven expansion of NATO hard up to Russia’s borders will not be tolerated and will have grave consequences.
Well I guess they’ll be dealing to Finland imminently then.
I don’t know about imminently, as stated there was 20 years of clear signaling before action on Ukraine. But obviously, one situation at a time is the way to avoid over extension, I expect The Russians have ranked their priorities, NATO-free Ukraine and Georgia being highest in their concerns.

I can hardly imagine a country like America who has never experienced war at its doorstep except the American Civil War and the War for Independence to ever know what it is like for countries on the European continent to dictate to countries like the Ukraine.
