Leo XIV elected as first American pope

In the brilliant, funny and clever HBO 2016 series, ‘The Young Pope’, Jude Law deliciously plays a fictitious young American Pope with glee…

…the real American Pope has leaned into traditionalism with his attire while the name he has taken represents social justice, doctrinal clarity and moral leadership.

It will be interesting how he deals with the numerous issues the Church and the world face, and it will interesting to see if he criticises Trump over Gaza.

Surprising decision because the Church has traditionally distrusted America.

For good reasons.

Increasingly having independent opinion in a mainstream media environment which mostly echo one another has become more important than ever, so if you value having an independent voice – please donate here.

  1. The Pope and Catholics (Mary worshippers) are not real Christians. They belong to a sinister cult that deceives over a billion people, operating under the influence of Satan himself. Behind the closed doors of the Vatican, the Pope heads the IPO (International Paedophilia Organisation).

While we wait and hope that Pope Leo XIV will take a hardline with Trump over Gaza, a tweet slamming Trump over his immigration policies that was retweeted by Cardinal Prevost, now Pope, just three weeks ago..

    New pope’s Trump administration tweets

……His last retweet, just three weeks ago, reportedly slammed the Trump administration’s deportation of an undocumented migrant and father-of-three Kilmar Abrego Garcia, 30, to El Salvador.

The post read: “Do you not see the suffering? Is your conscience not disturbed? How can you stay quiet?”

A retweet is a step up from just giving a ‘like’.But a retweet of someone else’s post is not exactly the most pointed heartfelt criticism,

Cardinal Robert Prevost has been elevated to the position of ultimate authority in the Church, with full Access to all the information and resources of the Papacy and the Vatican at his fingertips. Pope XIV has the ability to influence and even mobilise millions of people to take a stand against injustice, his words carry weight.

To be remembered by history, Robert Prevost, Pope Leo XIV will have to do more than retweet someone else’s words.

  3. The Dragon, The Beast and The False Prophet = Paganism, The Catholic Church and American Fundy style.

  4. The Pope has more influence than most political leaders, so much so, that Donald Trump who holds what is called the most powerful political position in the world envies the position of Pope, retweeing an image of himself as Pope.

But…but…but Zelda your heroes Trump and Vance are both papists – I mean Roman Catholics.
Are they then too part of sinister cult? Under the influence of Satan himself?
I mean – I knew Trump is a creepy sexual predator who lusts after his daughter Ivanka and boasts about ‘pussy grabbing’ but this means (gasp) he is a paedophile as well.
Mind you anything is possible now. Turn from false gods and join me in naked, orgiastic worship of the Great Fire Snake.

  6. The Catholic Church did little for the Jews in WW2 .I wonder if it will stand in support of the Palestinians

  7. It doesne matter.

What is amusing to me is how opposite Presbyterianism is to Catholicism. My ma’s people did the complete opposite to the flamboyant Caths. It could be called the ‘Anti-Catholic Church’.

  8. I’ll give him a chance. Reform always takes a few centuries with the Catholic church. I like his connection to Peru. Latin American Catholicism is very working class.

  9. Vera amusing, how so opposite my Ma’s Presbyterian folk are to Catholicism. Everything about the ‘Presbuttons’, as Ma called them, is the 180 degree opposite of Catholics. They might as well have called themselves the anti-Catholic Church. And, no, I’m not going into the details, I have work tomorrow.

It does explain why Presbyterians regularly convert to ‘smells and bells’ — though not so much the Caths to the grayness of Calvinism. In the day, they usually did the born again christianity step first — a similar colourfulness but claiming to be more authentic.
