Announce protest actions, general chit chat or give your opinion on issues we haven’t covered for the day.

The Editor doesn’t moderate this blog,  3 volunteers do, they are very lenient to provide you a free speech space but if it’s just deranged abuse or putting words in bloggers mouths to have a pointless argument, we don’t bother publishing.

All in all, TDB gives punters a very, very, very wide space to comment in but we won’t bother with out right lies or gleeful malice. We leave that to the Herald comment section.

EDITORS NOTE: – By the way, here’s a list of shit that will get your comment dumped. Sexist abuse, homophobic abuse, racist abuse, anti-muslim abuse, transphobic abuse, Chemtrails, 9/11 truthers, Qanon lunacy, climate deniers, anti-fluoride fanatics, anti-vaxxer lunatics, 5G conspiracy theories, the virus is a bioweapon, some weird Bullshit about the UN taking over the world  and ANYONE that links to fucking infowar.

  1. This happened after people reached desperate status around Greece. Could happen anywhere I think even to us.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moria_refugee_camp
In August 2018, it was dubbed by the field coordinator of Doctors Without Borders as “the worst refugee camp on earth”, as reported by the BBC.[4] “I’ve never seen the level of suffering we are witnessing here every day”, says Luca Fontana, MSF Lesbos coordinator (7’42).[5] The camp was built to accommodate around 3,000 people, however there were around 20,000 people living in the camp in summer 2020, among whom 6,000 to 7,000 were children under the age of 18.[6]

  2. A little whimsy –
Ode (odour) to United States and United Kingdom
    The two entities are united
    Together they are benighted
    But don’t be frighted
    There are still other countries
    To be sighted and cited
    And so be delighted
    To find ourselves
    Forced to be global
    And shaken snowfully
    Western imbalance righted.
    Capisce?

About snowglobes – unique creations which have lasted intact despite cheaper copycat manufactures, into the 21st century, over 100 years. NZAO s also fighting to keep its integrity and uniqueness intact. Perhaps if we shake ourselves and move within a cloud of snowflakes of goodwill accompanied by science we can survive the intrusion of expensive copies that can never match the original. So come on snowflakes get swirling.

The family company that invented the snow globe
The 57-year-old Austrian is the grandson of the man widely acknowledged as the inventor of the snow globe. His grandfather, the first Erwin Perzy, came up with the idea by accident in 1900.
Mass production started in Vienna in 1905, and 108 years later, the company – Original Vienna Snow Globes – is still going strong.
Mr Perzy III has been in charge since the early 1980s and the company, despite having only 30 employees, 15 of which work from home, produces about 200,000 snow globes a year.
Unlike cheaper rivals from the Far East, the company’s snow globes are handpainted and manually assembled, and the actual globe is still made of glass rather than plastic.

Can India really stop river water from flowing into Pakistan?

That’s the question on many minds, after India suspended a major treaty governing water sharing of six rivers in the Indus basin between the two countries, following Tuesday’s horrific attack in Indian-administered Kashmir.
The 1960 Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) survived two wars between the nuclear rivals and was seen as an example of trans-boundary water management.
The suspension is among several steps India has taken against Pakistan, accusing it of backing cross-border terrorism – a charge Islamabad flatly denies. It has also hit back with reciprocal measures against Delhi, and said stopping water flow “will be considered as an Act of War”.

This can be done for a dog – let’s extend care and concern to ordinary people around us say begging or sleeping the streets. How did the dog get on the Island, is there no blame on the owner or caregiver?
We are always ready to blame a human over human problems.

  5. Ridiculous – landlords letting out bad housing get go-by but cannabis prompts movement from lazy, hazy government drunk on self-satisfaction and smug brand of political expediency koolaid.
    https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/559123/auckland-landlord-nga-thanh-phan-to-pay-300k-after-allowing-rentals-to-be-used-to-grow-cannabis

Time for a change about this cannabis. Why should putting road cones all over the place be enabled to become a huge cost scam with probably more spent on them than fixing potholes. While cannabis is an honest product crying out for some practical easing of legislation which has been done in USA, our god, in some states?

The trouble is it would break the low limbo record so pollies have to look hard to see the level to decline to. ‘Fancy having to go down to be able to rise – weird’. Forget about the high jump pollies you will never make it – go low you sterile, dessicated people.

  6. AI aids could become so common that it could not be avoided. A good servant could become a bad master.
    https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/559118/researchers-uncover-link-between-eye-health-and-dementia
How AI could help in the early detection of dementia
Barrett-Young said with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, they began a long time before any symptoms became apparent, possibly even decades before people noticed cognitive decline…

We and our loved ones already become criminals when we try to decide when we want to die, are forbidden the right to plan our deaths and carry them out to our wishes in a prescribed system. This eye research could be useful or just another burden forced on people who are ready and happy to go to their demise pleasantly. This would avoid long and costly declines.

But the officious nature of government and religious rigidity and authoritarianism prevents it. And the religious could easily choose to look at the matter differently. Just thinking that the person wished to meet their maker and they are preventing this, would put a different construction on the subject.
