Labour – 30.9%
National – 29.6%
ACT – 10.8%
Greens – 9.5%
NZF – 8.1%
Māori Party – 5.3%
The Curia Taxpayers’ Union Poll receives much criticism for its perceived Right wing bias but when even their Poll is showing Labour over taking National, the Government should be deeply concerned.
As the first political poll of 2025, it highlights the challenges facing Prime Minister Luxon as he goes into a year where the economy is set to tank alongside very divisive race relations policy.
We will have the deeply controversial 6 month Treaty Principles Referendum Bill alongside forced Referendums on Māori participation in local council elections WHILE the economy hurts thanks to the Austerity Agenda of the current Government.
This will combine into a very messy set of problems which are all thanks to National’s making.
It was Chris Luxon who agreed to ACTs Treaty Principles Referendum and it is his Government’s Austerity Budgets that have helped trigger a construction slow down that is seeing thousands of Kiwi workers moving to Australia.
This weeks inflation numbers show that inflation is not coming down but holding despite all the job losses!
Triggering enormous race relations disruption while the economy is sinking due to your economic policies is a desperately stupid position to be in, yet the Prime Minister has very willingly placed himself, the National Party and the future of this coalition Government in that very position.
A lifting NZFirst support will blunt Māori Party aspirations as it provides Chippy with a means of side stepping the Māori Party altogether, something the Māori Party should be very conscious of.
2025 is going to be a very tough year convincing Kiwis that legislation designed to deregulate industry linked to their donors’ interests is really the best way for the country to move forward.

So labour not barking at every passing car like National did when in opposition is starting to show results .All of the people here bleating about Labour not coming out with policy are plain stupid ,why would they bring out policy 2 years out from an election .Do it once and do it right is the way to go ,not the constant back flipping and bleating that nact did for 3 years .
Reality is Gordon that govts are not usually voted in on policy, sitting govts are voted out on a whim. Labour doesn’t necessarily need to be releasing policy that would just be a diversion for the CoC and sycophant’s in the media to attack. However I agree with Hipkins strategy to let loose this year a coordinated attack from Labour MP’s on where the CoC is failing such as in their woeful, dangerous economic mismanagement, destruction of the health system, fast track policies that have zero concerns for the environment, racial and social discord.
An early election would be welcome following the collapse of the CoC.
Hipkins has conceded they went into 2017 completely unprepared with uncoated and unworkable aims .In 2020 they did not need to do anything to get back into power so that is what they did NOTHING
Covid didn’t exist then, just a myth a hoax, Labour did nothing, fuck you are a wanker Trev.
Labour don’t have any policy.

Read the above link at least three times then fuck off
Gosh Phil all that does is endorse my comment,”Labour don’t have any policy.”
That’s why you are known here as the resident fuckwit troll.
The point is gw we don’t want to wait patiently or im- for 2 years!!!
It seems a good time to roll over the government and annul annihilate, all the fast track legislation as not having gone through due process. And while we are at it, let us go back to the early 1980’s basis and have a go at revoking all since with a sweep of the political and judicial pen; we aren’t an upright government now so let’s stand up and practice some machiavellian tricks.
Just brazen it out with deep thought, bribes, non-bribes, security measures, promises, partial recompense, appearing before the business world great judiciary and being shot – I will offer as one sacrifice, even have my head chopped off, tumbril style, etc.
I am so disappointed in seeing what mankind has wrought, rort! and am all wrought up about it. Though an appointment a few years hence will be needed as I’m busy right at the present. What the hell, there is no reasoning with these zombies, any mantle of Christian religion they put on is a disgrace to a religion that would save us all on earth if we bothered to follow its tenets, and not the simple prejudices of the fatuated ambitious, and toadies, personal megalomania.
gordon what is your favourite tipple I’d love to send you a bottle of the best vintage to brighten your life.
Molly Toff Cocktail coming your way cunt
Gosh such foul language Derek.
Don’t like it Bob knob the troll, then fuck off, simple.
So the sausage roll guy whose explanation of the ’23 loss was tide goes in, tide goes out, is proved right. I don’t want another session of bullshit from the 84ist Labour Party.
The sausage is soon to be rolled.(Bit corny I admit.)
Closest you have come to sounding human David.
At least, let’s inflict a cost on rich-rule Labour. That’d be them having to do right by Palestine, the West’s moral heart. It would be exceptional among their kind. Let’s twist their arms till they break. Moral heart matters, after 40 years of the lack of it.
