Deeply religious Christian Politicians Chris Luxon nervous that the gentlemen to his left might not love Jesus as much as he does.

  1. Hopeless at reading the room at home in New Zealand.
But Christopher Luxon gets Trade Deals signed at will.
Of course the groundwork is laid by Todd McLay and Winston Peters.
    India next.

    • Ahem…
It’s the same deal agreement begun by Damien O’Connor in 2022 handed to Todd McClay.
It’s not the claimed ” fastest deal” BS# nor the NATs.

    • No I think this is a discovery project on more suitable clothing than close fitting suits for when our temperatures rise to near Oz’s 50? degrees.
Tim Winton – The “terrifying feeling” of being under the sun at 50 degrees Celsius is something the Australian writer and climate activist knows from personal experience. “We’re not built to live like that and we won’t. I’m afraid most of us
      won’t live like that.”
In his epic new novel Juice, the 64-year-old drops his readers into a dystopian desert culture where chaos reigns and life is cheap. https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/environment/530575/australian-novelist-tim-winton-
Good, life is cheap, so all can afford it!

      • Greywarbler How right you are ( and that is not a political statement.) Long flowing robes are much cooler than trousers, and some men’s current trousers are tailored too tight fitting around their legs. Luxon’s usually are, ditto Mark Mitchell in today’s photo, he has a big top half and needs a more balanced look. Winston Peters always looks good in a suit, wider trousers, almost 1940’s -looking. I don’t want to start on old men in jeans, especially rolled up at the ankles, but I will look out for Tim Winton’s book, thank you.

        • OK Applewood (have you read Terry Pratchett and the sapient pearwood he writes of)?
Sapient Pearwood was a tree and also what The Luggage, along with the other Luggages in Interesting Times, were made out of. It is almost extinct, and its rarity and magical properties make it extremely valuable.

We need to get away from past fickle fashion – some styles go back to the 1960s – drainpipe trousers, skin-tight jeans (you put them on and got into a bath to shrink them down. Mad eh! But our future goes back beyond memory, so lets get clothes that fit not fashion, but need, value and survival.

Cut the above-ground fashion berg – perhaps mainly buy clothes from local manufacturers and pay the cost of materials and production; save up, set small sums away each week – local shoes, top, skirt, jeans, woollen jersey and trous/pants for each season. They will be more costly but last longer so you can only afford the basic wardrobe. Down goes overseas expenditure and big retail clothing. Talk about dressing up a corpse country and ghosts – look our fellow peeps in the eye, talk to our producers, and think about the poor in Kiwiland and not spurious ideas about Asia; act locally, we need it.

  2. Luxon to NZ public:
“What I am NOT saying to you is… (as is the case with all these deals), … is what they are wanting and getting out of the deal, and how that will affect the NZ public. Mercifully the NZ journalists never seem to delve into this either.”
