Announce protest actions, general chit chat or give your opinion on issues we haven’t covered for the day.
The Editor doesn’t moderate this blog, 3 volunteers do, they are very lenient to provide you a free speech space but if it’s just deranged abuse or putting words in bloggers mouths to have a pointless argument, we don’t bother publishing.
All in all, TDB gives punters a very, very, very wide space to comment in but we won’t bother with out right lies or gleeful malice. We leave that to the Herald comment section.
EDITORS NOTE: – By the way, here’s a list of shit that will get your comment dumped. Sexist abuse, homophobic abuse, racist abuse, anti-muslim abuse, transphobic abuse, Chemtrails, 9/11 truthers, Qanon lunacy, climate deniers, anti-fluoride fanatics, anti-vaxxer lunatics, 5G conspiracy theories, the virus is a bioweapon, some weird bullshit about the UN taking over the world and ANYONE that links to fucking infowar.
Why abuse survivors want the Solicitor-General gone

The Chairman. Agree. She should have declared a conflict of interest- and that’s putting it mildly – after having been so partisan in the historical dynamics. And if her focus was saving the state money, rather than addressing the states’ victims’s issues, she should be stood down. I’ve not checked out your RNZ reference here, sorry, but there’s a lot happening right now.
Saving the state money would seem to explain the moves the Solicitor-General’s office had taken to stop the claims going ahead.
Still hoping that Andy Coster finds time to report on the strange and violent happenings at Albert Park before he starts his new job.

..R.ag monsters are made up of wet wipes, sanitary items, clothing, floss, hair, paper towels, wood, and fats or oils and are usually found when wastewater pumps clog and pipes block or overflow.
The costly clogs can block pipes and damage pumps. They are especially common after heavy rain and, on average, Napier council staff expect to find 30 blockages a month, with roughly $200,000 spent annually in the city getting rid of them.
It can happen at any time, and it makes our job much tougher. It is frustrating because it could be easily avoided if people didn’t flush the wrong things. Please only pee, poo and put toilet paper down the loo.” (Is that clear enough, easy enough for all women and men to understand.)
Only you can prevent gross, smelly fatbergs from clogging …

A fatberg is a congealed mass found in sewer systems combining non-biodegradable solid matter such as wet wipes with grease or cooking fat. …
Some good news about Wellington City Council water system efforts to keep system going. Note – which needs citizen co-operation.

If running a ship is as easy to work as my computer which goes off on some crooked option from a misplaced finger which then takes precious time to recover from, then it needs better controls so that directions need to be confirmed after repeating the direction for clarity.
https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/on-the-inside/532421/nz-needs-to-rethink-multi-bed-hospital-rooms
I remember when my mother was dying she was sharing a room with someone recovering from having a gallstone? removed. She wanted peace and quiet to recover and get back to work. We wanted time to talk together and take turns at holding Mum’s hand. The two needs were incompatible. Hospitals being built should be built to need.
Mum had been in a shared ward with numbers of beds and visitors commented on her yellow, jaundiced look – it was not good for her or us to put up with. (She had pancreatic cancer, which is it seems impossible to recover from by the way.)
Proper orientation courses on simulators for the various masters and steering controllers and in the end a 5 second pressure on the tight button would have saved the ship from what? – it might still have touched land but not run into it.
Interesting reading and seemingly a full summary of the matter of the June grounding of the Aratere.

Has anyone been to Trotter’s blog lately? He’s gone full out Zionist. At two of his latest columns about how Palestinians are terrible.
“After much soul-searching, however, the Jews of Palestine accepted the proposed partition. The Palestinian Arabs, determined to inherit an undivided Palestinian state, refused.”
For Christ’s sake – just listen to that. Absolutely no context at all. No mention of the mass expulsions of Palestinians and the various massacres which began before the state even existed. I’ve asked him where he gets his information from. Not expecting a comprehensive answer. In fact possibly going to be banned. Although to be fair, usually if you put your criticism in a reasonable way, he will publish it – unlike some around here.
