Oh surprise, surprise…

New Plymouth MP ‘hugely relieved’ after police end investigation

Embattled New Plymouth MP David MacLeod has described the relief he felt after hearing a police investigation into his undeclared donations was over without further action being taken.

The first-term MP has by his own admission suffered through an extremely concerning time since the investigation was launched in May following his failure to disclose $178,394 in donations.

He also failed to disclose a $10,000 donation from 2023, which he said was a mistake he could not explain.

…I bet he’s fucking relieved, almost as much as his donors…

Many of the donations came from among the country’s “rich listers” who MacLeod said he had personally approached after meeting them on the Wairakei golf course.

Of course the cops didn’t prosecute, they only prosecute if you are Māori and use a van like they are trying over at the Manurewa Marae.

The white man’s interests marches on.

  1. Not surprised by this. Too old, cynical and jaded to be surprised. Took the donation from his rich mate who is the kiwi front for the multinational company that is going destroy sea bed with mining. The company that has been declined resource consent time and again. The company that dropped court action when National announced Fast tracking. The company that would have instead had to work through the parliamentary committee that McCloud was the chairman of. What a tidy circle they had.
By the way, McCloud is maori, the same way David Seymour is maori. But he is not like those trouble making maori in Manukau who were obviously trying to subvert the very basis of our democracy with their special privileges.

    • That would be correct.
Beneficiary gets locked up for 2 years for ripping off $200k over 20 years.
Others get home detention for multi million dollars fraud.
      MP doesn’t even get charged!!!

  2. Another in the growing list of dodgy near criminals in the current government .No doubt Mitch would have had a word to Coster to make it go away .After all Coster will be getting a big payout next year when he leaves to work else where

      • Most of the ACT party, many in the National party that have slid under the radar, Judith Collins and the previous Paula Bennett and Mike Sabin, god they’re horrid eh Trevor?

      • Trevor, you are really funny the way you cannot accept facts and always find a way to blame the Greens instead.
The Greens are nothing and have no influence on anything these days and yet you always have a go.
You manage to over-look the grotesque sorts of people the right chooses as MPs.
Being a person who cares enough to help at a foodbank, why can you not see how loathsome they are and how self-serving? Half your foodbank work is caused by them.
As someone pointed out a beneficiary defrauding MSD for a similar amount over 20 years could go to jail, yet this guy walks away, no conviction, nothing to say he ever made such a stupid and unnecessary mistake.
Give it a rest Trevor and face facts.

      • Listen to you Trevor. Your justification for yet another dodgy coalition corporate sell out is to point at the Greens! What a joke. You mean the ex green that was essentially guilty of acting like she was part of the coalition? Poor pay for exploited workers is pretty much the coalitions bread and butter

  3. Our police are supine for govt polies (the word suddenly popped into my head, and that’s really what the species is about: bright , shining words and then, black — very soon).

    • Interesting. News of these consequences might not make it to MSM, them being so disinterested in rocking blue boats, so please keep us informed of developments, KwT-C.
