Yep they do. It’s just that most of them suffer from the phenomenon Danyl McLaughlan describes a couple of weeks back. And those that don’t subscribe to the bullshit are wondering how the fuck to effect change.
They (Labour MPs as a collective) are still captured by the neoliberal, or at least the 3rd Way, AND Senior and Muddle Managerialist Public Servants. (Of course there’s another type of revolving door as well between the polly and PS class at times)
It’s why they need a shock in ’23. So if you’ve been a trad Labour voter – AT LEAST flick your party vote to Green, and do some of the stuff @ Tiger Mountain has been suggesting.
And let the chips fall where they may. At the very least, Labour will obtain some learnings, going forward, in this space.
Oh, and btw – usually they’re thoroughly ‘nice’ people’. It’s just that most have grown up in the era of TINA and have known (let alone experienced) anything else. And when you subscribe to the TINA ideology, and the neo-liberal or 3rdWAY agendas, it’s preferable that you’ve had imagination bypass surgery, are uber-ambitious, and that you’ve studied every management book Unity Books has on its shelves.
Bloody funny to watch, IF you have no debt or you’re amongst the privileged.
Forced income insurance protects employers who are useless at running viable businesses and governments who are useless at governing equitably. That’s what’s going on with Government. Arse covering for the wealthy power players. Watch it go tits up, just like ACC, WINZ, Kiwibuild, every other social scheme implemented, as everyone clips the government funded tax payer ticket leaving sweet fuck all for you and me.
I got an email from Kiwibuild today. I didn’t know Kiwibuild was still a thing! Upper Hutt 2 bed terrace from $629K, 3 bed terrace from $729K, 4 bed stand alone from $929K. Still light years out of my price range though. Defunct.
