Dr Gaurav Sharma meltdown – Winners, Losers & Predictions

Sharma represents an entirely new political danger to the Labour Party and if they don’t see where this is going now, they are fools.

He’s gone full Jamie Lee-Ross suicide vest and Labour’s Whips have a lot to answer for.

Forcing his rival to be in his Office was stupid and trying to force him to eat shit has made this personal.

And it always gets nasty when it becomes personal.

There are of course political winners and losers.

Winners:

National – They can’t believe their blessings and pure luck to have all the attention of bullying and privilege taken away from them

Millennial level triggers – Now Anna Lorck is the target of anonymous Millennial bully allegations. The snowflake felt being asked to drive her boss home after work is emotional genocide. It’s insane that millennial trigger thresholds are the bully game now, their brittle weakness is collectively beneath the challenge of our times.

Losers:

Labour – This is going to be never endingly damaging because Sharma is doing it for the political martyrdom now and has clearly already decided to run as an independent. He will continue to deliver scraps of evidence and drag this out until the election.

Whips – This is such an extraordinary fuck up by the whips. Shit has clearly gotten personal between Sharma and whoever decided to put his rival in his office and this should have been handled with dignity and tact. It feels like inexperienced Whips big balling when diplomacy was required. The whips need whipping.

Uffindell – The hypocrisy between his own actions as a 16 year old and his damnation of 16 year olds hurting people in his maiden speech was always difficult enough to survive, but National’s need to punish young people on welfare and the chance to look politically pious means he’s gone.  Expect a by-election in Tauranga after Sam ‘choses’ to stand down.

Predictions:

Look at the top of Sharma’s Facebook page

This is a man. who is ready to run as an independent. Between now and the 2023 election he will run a counter insurgency inside the Government so he is free to run as an independent in 2023 or if push comes to shove a by-election 6 months before the 2023 election.

Either way, he’s been driven so far that it is personal now and he’s going to get his pound of flesh.

This will be terribly destabilising to Labour whop won’t know how to react to him.

National & ACT will be hypocritically pious and the Greens are so victim driven they won’t be able to criticise Sharma.

This is a terrible blunder and Sharma will ride the Millennial victimhood as far as humanly possible.

  1. The PM will also take some damage as her Office ignored his complaints and then she patronised him in her on-camera response, so she’s involved. With recorded video…

  2. There is obviously more to run here. The real danger for Labour is that they lose their one ‘man of the people’ Mcanulty. It is quite clear that parliamentary services should run a review into this although the Brazilian seems a hopelessly captured Labour catspaw.

You forgot the Feckless (ie media) in your losers category. Clearly they wanted to run the Big Sam the rugbyhead story a little further and are on instructions to minimise the Sharma story. I loved how big Sam was guilty BUT Sharma’s bullying is alleged. Lol.

    • They won’t lose Labour’s ‘man of the people (who I reckon is actually a good bloke). He’s the teacher’s pet.
But that of course doesn’t mean McNulty is ‘innocent’, or Sharma is a prima donna C**t.

And it’s not the first time the Brazilian is being a useless prat.

    • “So”….. @FtT, after witnessing the 3pm ‘presser’ today in the parliamentary ecosystem:
“Ultimately”, “If I may”, I’ll “again” put to you the proposition that McNulty is safe in this space.

I’m going to go to the movers and shakers on RNZ’s ‘The Panel’ – today hosted by the Congential Hipster to see what my thinkings should be in this space going forward.
Thankfully, earlier today I put my Rhubarb filter on because there has been so many lightening strikes I almost felt I needed to retreat to my Faraday Cage and hunker down. 6pm of course there’ll be some incisive journalism on the TVNZ and Shub ‘shows’ – as long as I take the advertising antidote pill and shove my sun glasses on to prevent blinding by the bleached teeth of the autocue readers.
Thankfully we never got to smellavision

    • Don’t be naive. The whip has a job to do and it is to make sure the caucus toes the party line.
Don’t think Nats, Act or any other party is any different. If this bloke needed to be bullied to follow what are party policy and parliamentary convention then he should have quit . After all he has been involved in Labour politics for 10 years so would have known what the conventions are. Sounds very much to me like someone reacting to being taken on at his own game.

          • Well @ Nathan – sure as shit continues to produce at an ever-increasing rate, there are elements in the corporatised public service that need a kick up their back holes, and a number of politicians also that need to realise their ‘officials’ aren’t necessarily their best friendy blobs (despite the fact they may come across as thoroughly nice blokes and blokessess.
It’s going to take a while though and in the meantime we’ll all get what we deserve.
There’s a Brazilian that’ll carry on clipping the ticket; some old biddy doing Her best to manage one of the most dysfunctional gummint agencies that fucks up everything it touches; and that’s even before I touch on MSD, or OT, or NZTA, or ACC, or – you name it.

The sad thing is politicians are probably still in wnderings why people are losing faith in our institutions.

            Pffffffffft – next

      • Don’t think that’s fair the bullied should quit?
        Shouldn’t the bullies be dismissed?
Is this Labour Government policy if you are bullied quit?

  3. Well Adern is the supposed woke princess and we all know that not even the woke can live up to the woke standards, so it will be just peachy to see how she (doesn’t) cope with this.
She shines beautifully when a facade of caring is required, but is completely incompetent in seemingly all facets of politics.
It leaves me wondering if she has what it takes to even see out a full term. But to be fair to her, she has her PMs pension and undoubtedly a cushy UN job where outcomes don’t matter so she will be just fine.

  4. Aren’t we all looking forward to a time when millennials are running things.
    Imagine it:
    CEO resigns over cold coffee.
Prime minister steps down after meme makes them sad.
High court judge sentences barista to prison after oat milk removed from menu.

    • Loved that Leftorium.
Hopefully when the millennials take over they will have grown up and left their childish behaviour behind them.

  5. Fuck! Who doesn’t like a good old fashioned 21st century Gaslighting!

Just like when they use to burn bitches, I mean witches at the stake.

Trigger warning! I said bitches instead of witches and I didn’t delete it because I thought it might be fun to see if anyone gets triggered or not.

    Q. Should I have put up the trigger warning first? At the start on this comment?

Oh, and Labour are seriously fuck’d.

  6. Labour has bullied the wrong guy here (MBA and Fullybright). His documentation and detail is next level-thats 101 MBA. Ironically he is just the type of person Labour needs. This is fascinating in the extreme because it is a window where we will see from the inside just how Labour operates. Jacinda has said it’s just an employment issue he had-mmmm straight away there’s an unfortunate insight.
I support Jacinda and Labour but I think they should apologise to Gaurev, show intent to make amends and get him to write policy on the way the party treats people, what bullying behaviour is and how it it dealt with within the party. Thats the principle of continuous improvement (MBA 102). I hope he stays with Labour because he has a huge amount to offer.

  7. At the moment, we have only heard one side of the story, that of Dr Sharma. If he feels bullied or being treated unfairly, then he has a right to complain and those complaints fairly addressed.

However, I’d like to see Dr Sharma’s public statements supported with more clarified evidence of events, along with that of the other side to balance the issue.

At present it’s all from one perspective of events.

  8. The bullying is only one of many problems that have been highlighted in Dr. Sharma’s exposition.

Everyone should be aghast at the “Party before country” sentiment allegedly expressed by Duncan Webb MP, and the “don’t write anything down or expect anything back in writing because it’s subject to OIA” makes a mockery of Jacinda’s claim that she’d lead the most open and transparent government ever, which to be fair had already been exposed as nothing more than a hollow marketing slogan.

There are so many fires here! I wonder if the bought media will simply ignore it all. Strangely, there are still more Uffindell stories being published than Sharma ones.

    • Noticed the same this morning. News hub looks more like what I’d imagine from a newspaper from Russia.
In the lead online section, 4 stories about Luxton or Uffindell, all critical. One on Garuv which ran the party line he’s the bully, and Jacinda feels sorry for him, and has “reached out to him”

Makes me feel sick to think our taxes are paying for this shit, not nurses, hospitals, homes.

    • You are proven correct Ernie by today’s events Sharma out with no formal process being observed.
The big Labour Government bully machine activated.

  9. Remember when MPs used to turn on their party because of the policy direction or ideology. Now it’s because someone said something mean to them and hurt their feelings. No wonder voters have had a gutsful.

  10. What’s most damning here is the relationship between Labour and Parliamentary Services and the internal culture in Labour.

Parliamentary Services have Labour Members employed as employees – sounds like a giant conflict of interest. Parliamentary Services are effectively being run by the Labour government when they should be independent except at the highest level. Labour apparatchiks shouldnt have their fingers down in the work of Parliamentary Services, they appear to be having a 3 Way employment relationship which is wrong unless there is something weird with Sharma’s employment contract.

Sharma may well be a nitpicker but when he said the culture is: The Party comes before the Country, there is no NZ without Labour and, we dont put anything in writing because of OIAs, you know he is not making it up. Add in, the quiet undermining, obfuscation and stalling and it all screams Labour. You know that what smells off on the outside (Labour in public) is likely rotten on the inside.

  11. Anna Lorqin – When you have a 10year experienced executive secretary and a new MP you know who thinks they are really the boss in the office. Then parliamentary service provides ‘mentorship’ to the MP and ‘support’ for the staffer. Surely the the main requirement of the job is do everything your told to do and dont leak and get to feel priveliged working close to power. If you cant do that the jobs not for you quit and get a better job.

Meanwhile Stuff wont name the complainent because it will hurt her job prospects. She can publically call her boss a bully but cant be called whiny bitch.

  12. The only real losers are the people in Hamilton East who honestly thought they elected a representative from a Party they supported just to find out that they are not supported by the Party.
NZ between L and N is between a rock and a hard place.

    • The Labour hatchet gang have bullied Sharma out no investigation carried out?
Why all their dirty bully antics would be revealed.
Dirty politics with a kind head nod smile.

  13. Dr and scholar credentials don’t give political nouse, common sense, or integrity. To now say he still wants to stand for Labour at next election shows an incredible level of naivety or wilful obscuring of his actual intentions.
To go public about your party’s dirty laundry at a time that the opposition was dealing with the Uffindell affair shows a total lack of loyality to your own team.
Having been elected on a Labour ticket his only option if he is to retain any personal integrity is to resign and stand as an independent at the by-election.
More independents in parliament would be beneficial as it would dilute the overwhelming party power currently in force.

    • I agree there is a sense of entitlement with this MP. Sadly doctors are used to getting their own way, they are not used to being told what to do. Also there is a culture of superiority. His whole maiden speech was about bullying so the red flags should have gone up then. He is now running counterproductive to the government and could be quite a danger to privacy and confidentiality with other MP’s. I also see he is sending out undated unsigned messages from supposedly other MP’s. There is a lot of innuendo here that the PM ( who clearly knows a lot more than she is telling us because she can’t) is unable to deal with publicly. Crisis management is usually where the PM shines. This has gone back to the caucus ( oh to be a fly on the wall) for some sort of a resolution, however this MP is a loose cannon who appears to want his own way. This needs to go to independent arbitration at least then he will have to toe the line until its sorted out one way or the other. My feeling is he will never be happy no matter what.

  14. Love how without any evidence whatsoever Labour and their sycophants are saying Dr Sharma is the issue. Why would he write that article if he was actually the issue? It makes no sense at all.

Kieran McAnulty, Duncan Webb and Anna Lorck will have to be investigated. So will Dr Sharmas claims of inappropriate use of taxpayer funds.

Watch as Labour continue to demonize Gaurav, as they know his claims could bring down this government. Kindness in action…

    • MB, there could be a number of reasons he would write such things, not all altruistic; to me it is a letter you write to sort out your feelings but never send. It could never hope to achieve what its intent appears to be.
The issue to me is the overwhelming power parties hold over their MPs in parliament. MMP has given parties absolute control which is not good for democracy. Parliament should be a place where ‘members’ decide on individual issues and we should regularly see members crossing the floor on multiple issues.

      • Absolutely. While we’re at it, could “Parliamentary Privilege” maybe come under scrutiny? Why should squillions of dollars be spent on spin, speeches and propaganda when parliament allows a member to say absolutely anything they want and not be held to account?

  15. Thanks to Sharma’s insolence, the living standards of hundreds and thousands of New Zealanders are at risk.

If National come to power, NZ workers have a hawkish reserve bank determined to wipe out their long wanted payrises with the imposition of Shylock-style interest rates, and a National/ACT coalition dedicate to pushing down wages and conditions to workers.

  16. What freaks me out is the commentators here who are putting the boot into Dr. Sharma just for being disloyal to the crap tag f’n Labour Party who are shitting all over him. He appears to have done nothing wrong but that matters zilch to the feels of you woke party supporters. Not much crtitical thinking or morality going on here.

  17. This is definitely a job for Nosher Powell! The Planet’s burning while the self-obsessed are expecting us all to indulge them and their fucking silly bugger antics.

  18. See the Labour heavies jump to attention and bully one of their own out.
Secret meetings and all the dirty back stabbing we have come to expect from this underhand gang.( Apologies to gangs in general who look after their own. )
