Jacinda saying things that will be sure to draw notable news items positively about her. Does it mean anything really? Doesn’t this parallel her emotional response to the shooting of innocent good brown foreigners of a non-Anglicised mainstream religion. Great news moment one could say sarcastically. Is that a really bad response and heartless or is it showing a realistic critique of the situation? (I am considering the follow-on support that survivors of the shooting received, with some mothers being asked to get jobs six months later and some finding it better to leave NZ for good after bullying and verbal attacks and unpleasant things written on people’s houses.)

After all that “ask me in a month” stuff and a week or two on the ad-laden ‘Breakfast’, where continuity is constantly broken by shit advertisements, I’d be asking my family ‘What the fuck have we done’ as well.
Both AM and Breakfast are simply using the news agenda to sell shit none of us really need.

Is that about breakfast tv? Why watch it? Why have to look at someone explaining, describing, advising you about things, putting overt or subtle suggestions across. Breakfast tv is a last resort for getting the info that you would like to know, or should know, and want to know – listen to radio for it. Breakfast tv is for people who are addicted to being told about things by coloured people, coloured in bright colours with designer clothes smart, funky or fashionable casual, smartly designed coloured backgrounds that make awful news look dramatic and heroic or tragic and while your mind is deciding what category – you overlook the actual meaning of the reality and the wee space in your brain which would ask why and try to learn.
The word design has come up multiply in the above, and that is the overarching word for tv especially news and comment. Does the watcher’s brain know it and is able to sift it for bias before it goes from short-term to medium memory? I doubt it because there isn’t time as one frame quickly follows another.

Interesting cost structure on passports. They should be nearly free as they are required by governments all over the world and we are encouraged to be in the world, forced to by opening us up to cheaper goods from overseas which has ruined our local domestic economy. But being global is good, and being cut off by sea at the bottom of the world requires personal attendance to experience the world.

But we are charged nearly $200 for passports which keeps is in line with other 5 eyes countries – Australia Canada USA – a pity that we can’t have the higher wage structure of Oz and and Canada, I think, USA don’t understand their poverty. Our prices have to go up because the passport system is meant to pay for itself; have we been asked if we want the option of having a low cost basic service without frills to fit those with low income status?
Refugees are being transferred from Australian zoos and I hope that if they go to Auck’and that Mangere wil be good to them.
