  3. Theft by cuzzie update

Another day another failed financial adviser ripping off iwi. Mark Huirua, 58, stole at least $3 million from Taranaki iwi Nga Rauru Kitahi while he was resident in sunny Australia, a sum made even worse by the fact of the miniscule amounts paid out through Treaty negotiations in te first place. Fool iwi once, shame on the financial adviser, fool iwi more than ten times, which is what we have seen with these trustee thefts, shame on the whole rotten system.

  4. Why is it that this government is happy with creating two classes in society? We have seen it’s willingness to prop up private businesses in NZ recently and pay the ‘special’ unemployed more than others. We have seen the judiciary rule that the Bill of Rights only applies to cops and soldiers with regards to the vaccine mandates being unlawful (the judiciary also likes to give more lenient sentences and name suppression to the white upper class, pseudo celebrities, sportspeople and those on the list). If you don’t own a house then you are the property of a property manager and if you own property you are by default a rich, housing speculator (it would take someone with no financial assets two first division lottery wins to buy the average house in NZ, a statistical improbability, as is earning enough over a lifetime to do the same). If you are a public sector CEO you are somehow entitled to a hundred times the salary of the average worker. NZers are much more likely to commit crimes against IRD than against WINZ (orders of magnitude) but WINZ defaulters are much more likely to be reported on in the media. If you don’t agree with the latest government dictate you are a conspiracy theorist, anti-science or a violent terrorist (the media, celebrity, academia, business and government have congealed into this pearl-clutching, pseudo-virtuous, lynch mob which uses cancel culture to execute non believers). It takes an absolute majority to change recreational drug laws in this country but only a few health advisors, high on their own ego, whispering into the ear of the PM for there to be martial law and implementation of forced medical procedures (abetted by the public sector, the medical establishment and health and other industries who stand to benefit from such measures). Privileged NZers who break Covid rules, including misleading pharmacies to help out a friend, are punished with raised eyebrows but those pushing back on tyranny are met with fines, the club or jail time (the crimes of privileged Covid rule breakers are typically not reported because of the media black out or alternatively an illogical retort is released by some captured ‘expert’). Social media companies that deplatform without reason, host actual murders, sell client data and spy on behalf of the state are safe space bastions of free speech and anti-censorship who connect the world. We are told that polluting multinationals like Fonterra are actually the guardians of our environment. Rich foreigners can buy our citizenship and land, peddle pharmaceuticals on the telly and appropriate our minds and bodies, but we can’t leave the house without a pass and a face covering. And our foreign ministry recognises only ‘the atrocities’ perpetuated against whites up north but not brown down south (their politics of targeted kindness includes propaganda, economic warfare against innocents, cyber terrorism and racial hate campaigns). What is this bullshit?

  5. Hey Ethan – cook that diatribe up so its solid and throw it at a politician! If you would like someone to read it your thoughts, put a break in it with at least two paragraphs so the meaning comes out through the words. Did you know that if a person smokes too much marijuana their ability to retain the meaning of what they read is practically nil, though it might come back after a time off the weed. What a waste of your time if it doesn’t get read.

  6. I hope it isn’t medicine – who would want such lousy people looking after them. Dunedin doesn’t enhance its standing with fools behaving like this. Perhaps they need a gap year or two before they are ready to take on higher learning and thinking.

  7. Just another brain fart:
I’m having wonderings in this space going forward, whether or not JA will go down in herstory as being one of NuZull’s best or worst PM’s.
In the here and now, surely one of the best.
A few years on however, someone that squandered a mandate, promised the World in terms of transformation and kindness, and delivered SFA
Her “focus” is another person’s stubbornness. Her loyalty to the inadequacies of some of Her Munsters is another person’s perception of muppetry. Carmel Sepoloni’s OT/Children’s Commissioner debacle (Perhaps the worst). Kris Faafoi’s oversight of any and all of his portfolios (We’re about to see the destruction of RNZ – such as it is and has been in recent declining days – JESUS!!! Willie Wonker form the chocolate factory is actually STILL employed after all that ConcertFM debacle, as is the Thompson Himself!.
Then there’s the small matter of Housing, and Supermarkets, and the price of petroleum, and the exploitation of workers and ummigrunts.

BUT – by all means my polly and PS senior and muddle management classes. Carry on being media whores and see where it gets you in 26, if not before when faith in democratic institutions has reached an all time low.
    Que sera sera

  8. https://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/HL2202/S00042/dunne-speaks-the-ever-so-earnest-commissioner-of-police.htm
What about this criticism of the Police Commissioner by Peter Dunne? Do we want failed or retired politicians taking precedence in the discussion of present politics in a regular way attempting to be an opinion maker? I would have been accepting at one time but now I see the past failures of policy and vision rolled out, I would like them to resile – these knowledgable wise men and women. They might not be able to hold back from dabbling and also getting jobs on qangos but their wisdom is too often threadbare and doesn’t come near to dealing to the current problems which overlay the ones they faced.

The real solution lies in Roosevelt’s warning of the need for “intelligent forethought” followed by “decisive action” to bolster soft talk. In recent years we have become far too focussed on treating speaking softly about how things should be as end of itself. However unpalatable it may currently be, there needs to be more focus ensuring there is a workable big stick to back up the rhetoric. In his current predicament, the essentially earnest and well-meaning Commissioner of Police would likely agree.

It appears that he wants to talk tough from the comfort of the bunker for the grey haired machiavellians.
