Boom – And Richard Hills is out – the Auckland Mayoralty meltdown continues

TDB called Richard Hills a candidate with a glass jaw.

TDB called the establishment Left’s desire to back him over Efeso Collins as the worst factional clusterfuck since Trump Qanon infiltrated the Republicans.

And now, before the first punch is even thrown, the glass jawed Richard Hills crumples and folds.

The Auckland Establishment Left are in disarray.

Their spiteful malice towards Efeso is now at fever pitch and they would prefer to listen to Mike Hosking than publicly support Efeso.

The Establishment Auckland Left prefer to control the losing team than lose control of the winning team.

Phil Goff is now being begged to stay and they are desperately trying to get David Shearer back in play. He pulled out because he heard Paula Bennett was running.

She’s not, so they are trying to coax him back.

Their pride has formed into an ‘Anyone But Efeso’ mindset as they scramble to get a candidate.

The Labour leadership asked Hills to run and he’s fallen over before the fight starts. There needs to be a serious internal debate on how their dislike of Efeso has become so personal and threatened losing Auckland.

  1. Not definitively sure of the genesis of Auckland Labour’s view on Mr Collins but his conservative social views could have something to do with it do you think…?

I know a number of the Labour local Govt veterans which means some of them have been around way too long! I have not seen most of them put their heads up to campaign against CCOs and other Supercity corporatist bollocks.

Fer crissakes–surely a person that supports working class people could be supported for once, not rejected because he does not tick every identarian box in the known universe.

Efeso needs to run a community organising campaign, vote/mail in events to get those ballots actually in, and reach out to the middle class on the basis of it is TIME for a Polynesian Mayor in the biggest Polynesian city. How many more coots in suits do we need?

  2. Maybe someone should tell them that even a bunch of right leaners will vote for Collins. Why? Because he seems to have some good principles and doesn’t come across like a desparate Jacinda Deciple (like Goff). He could be really good which would make a change.

    • yes Krautenstein, he could actually be a good candidate rather than a Labour party hack or Eastern Suburbs toff

    • You’re on to it New Kraut! I’m not fussy and would vote for either Collins if they could clean up Auckland Council.

(Anyone notice how the left has slowly metastasized into an anti working class, anti brown movement? )

      • Yes Andrew. I have indeed noticed the morphing of the official ‘left’ into the anti worker anti brown( except when it’s convenient for cultural window dressing) due to rise of the Professional Managerial Classes. Who are without exception oxygen thieves and good for fuck all. They all have spreadsheets to tell you the way you are doing your job is wrong , even though they can’t fucking do ANYTHING!

      • In other words, become right wing.
        Yep, noticed it.
Surely you’d be happy about that as a right winger though Andrew?

        Yes. Me. 38 years ago.

      • I don’t believe a single one of you, and far too many others, have no idea what left wing means… In fact, I will go as far as to say that to blindly parrot what amounts to propaganda designed to have the less competent thinkers in society believing the opposite of what reality is.. Wow, they must be laughing their arses of at how easy it was to have people believing the opposite of reality, and being obnoxiously proud of themselves for being duped so comprehensively… The stupid is strong in this country… Approaching trumpian levels…

  3. I’m not from Auckland but someone will tell me what vision Collins has for the whole of Auckland. I know he’s been a councillor and apparently has done good stuff in south Auckland and Papa toe but maybe the rest of Auckland are wondering what he has in mind for them. Could be important I would have thought.

    • The rich pakeha of Orakei like him and over the shore too like him so their doesn’t seem to be a problem with him been not white if that’s your point nv?

        • Denny partly the racial thing but also the vision and ideas and experience to do justice to the greater Auckland area. In my view not many could do it justice. Although Goff is a fuckwit at times his overall experience is huge.

  4. Denny you are a minority tory Hori or Ngati Paoa tory – your tupuna will be turning in their graves. Ill be voting for Efeso but very few of our brown bros and sis’ south and west of the border ever vote in local body elections. All you right wingers and Auckland ratepayers and the greedy public wont vote for a pohara brown boy. It will be all yours Natz and Act – heres your chance Denny. I’m ok in Ponsonby – the greedy right will keep our rates low and ensure our pohara whanau south and west of the border will help fund our major infrastructure works – eg separation of our old combined sewer and storm water mains.
