There has been remarkably little concern expressed by NZ pollies about Fijian coups from he first one till now. The appearance of democracy is enough apparently and our citizens are not attuned to thinking about whether we could be taken over similarly. We only seem to care about Afghanistan and the Pacific Islands are to be left to their own devices – or until China shows up. Maybe we could do more bi-laterally as member states.

There are planned efforts being made to destabilise the Pacific area, and the whole of the British Commonwealth, and the traditionally good relationship between the UK and the USA. The assault on the Commonwealth by Prince Harry and Markle, may be hapless and self-serving, but it’s damaging and bad.
