How social media proxification is leading to a fascist kaleidoscope of climate crisis entropy triggered by Covid, woke supremacy & ok Karen QAnon echo chambers

New Zealand protestor Karen Brewer’s chilling threat as expert warns risk of anti-vaccination terrorism is real

Conspiracy theorists who believe networks of communists, pedophiles and Freemasons are using COVID vaccinations to carry out a worldwide depopulation campaign are calling for a coup and the mass execution of “traitors” in New Zealand.

Kaleidoscope of Hate

The unique universal experience of lockdown is causing internal ructions and currents through the political, social, economic and cultural landscape of NZ.

The algorithms of social media Hate has amplified polarization of debate in ways we are barely comprehending.

Into this vortex fault lines are rupturing.

A chunk of white society being asked to curtail their financial agency & freedom to protect Maori & Pacifica who they feel resentment from.

TDB Recommends NewzEngine.com

Vulnerable communities angry that their well being is collateral damage for the rich.

A distrust of Authority while being utterly dependent upon them.

Social isolation and a growing sense of dislocation.

Qanon lunatics who are impossible to be reasoned with alongside Woke lynch mobs on never ending cancellation purges.

The poor whose poverty has become survival level subsistence.

Renters locked into debt servitude.

Micro aggression policing trigger thresholds where the quickest to take offence wins in a never ending grim roulette of intersectionist grievance where a cacophony of wounds jockey for social hierarchy.

All have become building blocks towards barriers that divide while cocooning us all into echo chambers.

We have run out of patience with one another.

Social media proxification – hell is other people’s social media feed – Sartre

Social media algorithms have allowed for a toxicity of debate that is easily manipulated. A symphony of sweaty truths all screaming for attention and no one listening. Woke Identity Politics activists have seized the joy of having no gatekeepers to express how much they hate white men while alt right Incel Nazi’s have seized upon the joy of having no gatekeepers to express how much they hate everyone else.

Millennial woke culture sees macro violence coming from micro aggressions and piously police those micro aggressions with virtue signalling purity mantras.

Alt Right Incel Nazis see white persecution and create some bullshit replacement narrative to justify their powerlessness and feed that resentment online.

Most people are on social media and most people have a woke activist or Qanon fanatic in their social media feed screaming their feverish truths. While these activists certainly think they are speaking truth to power by endlessly calling people out for breaches of woke mantra or fake news anti Trump lies, to everyone else they are simply toxic.

People stop seeing the political party and only see the activist and in the end proxification means the activist becomes the proxy representation of the Party, and seeing as people have negative feelings towards the proxy, they turn from the Party.

Voters aren’t voting on policy, they are voting on who made them feel resentful on social media!

The political is the personal now means what hurts me personally becomes political.

Before social media activists could only face each other off at protests or through letters to the editor or talkback radio. There were constraints of interaction but with social media there are none and it turns out the freedom to insult and dehumanise others is more addictive than nicotine, alcohol and meth combined.

Wokeness has become a puritanical religion with none of the beauty – it’s not so much the personal virtue signal, we are all dicks at times, it’s the weaponization by algorithms that make it so dangerous and damaging.

The danger of identity politics is that it locks people intellectually into only defining the world through their skin colour, genitalia or sexual orientation – it also becomes toxically subjective and tribal where the only solidarity is with other people who share the skin colour or genitalia or sexual orientation- without shared truths and values, the 1% and their 9% enablers continue to divide the rest of us 90%.

The Left has lurched into woke ‘Social Justice’ territory which alienates more than it attracts.

Economic Justice does more than banning Gay Conversion, criminalising speech or gerrymandering the legal system to ensure anyone accused is found guilty, it redistributes wealth and makes direct provision to the cost of every day living. Beneficiaries and working class people care less about pronouns and the correct pronunciation of te Reo than they do about how to pay next weeks rent and power bill!

Pure temple doctrine divides & alienates. Broadchurch universals build solidarity.

I’m not interested in social justice wokedom any more, it is a minefield of competing schisms throwing vitriol at one another.

Twitter outrage is woke righteousness porn for the middle classes. A puritanical razoring where the self elected morality police publicly shame and cancel anyone for not using the language protocols of the conclave.

I am interested in Economic Justice and the immediate welfare of the poorest amongst us while providing immediate life condition upgrades.

Here’s what I think happens next.

All hell breaks lose.

For the 65% who support Jacinda’s public health strategy, this will be framed as life or death.

For the 35% who support Death Cult Capitalism, they will see Jacinda merely delaying the inevitable while they lose money.

The two most powerful forces in politics will be on a collision course in NZ.

The fear of dying by the poor vs the losing of money by the rich.

I believe the debate is about to become excruciatingly polarized & far more hateful.

We are barely comprehending the psychological impact of previous lockdowns and how they are manifesting in our street violence statistics, domestic violence statistics and self harm statistics.

With Delta and the inevitability of endemic spread, every lockdown will generate increasing fury or mass public health emergencies.

For Labour they must keep Covid out until we have a vaccination rate of at least 80%. Because a health emergency swamping our underfunded health system will damage Labour politically, a far tighter and more restrictive border MIQ arrangement is the only way to minimize outbreaks and lockdowns.

For National a change of leadership sooner rather than later is essential. But even then they only win if Delta gets back in and causes mass damage. Simon Bridges is their only shot.

ACT will continue to rise, Winston coming back will make the Greens irrelevant again.

Party machinations to one side, they will all occur in a ultra polarized and increasingly hateful social media landscape that the Party’s themselves will get swept along in.

Into this radioactive and toxic political dialogue will come the Hate Speech legislation which will see both sides lose their minds.

After each great pandemic in history there has been an enormous civil disruption. Ours is starting now.

In 2010, the 388 richest individuals owned more wealth than half of the entire human population on Earth

By 2015, this number was reduced to only 62 individuals

In 2018, it was 42

In 2019, it was down to only 26 individuals who own more wealth than 3.8 billion people.

And now in 2021, 20 people own more than 50% of the entire planet.

This isn’t democracy, this is a feudal plutocracy on a burning Earth

The Big Tech Tzars have manipulated our collective fear, ego, anger and insecurities through social media in a way that has led to the largest psychological civil war ever launched against one another.

We are but meat bags secreting hormones addicted to dopamine rewards for fat, sugar, salt and sex in a cultural landscape of individualism uber alles where we sing sweet secret lies to ourselves to make sense of a world around us that is frightening and in constant entropy.

Meanwhile, the planet burns and every aspect of our existence is monetarised for big data to sell us more stuff we can’t afford. We are alienated and anesthetized by a consumer culture that keeps us neurotic and disconnected. Our work, our existence, every move we make are all built to suck money to a minority class that sits above us while under neoliberalism, globalization, financialization, and automation, our existence as individuals has only become more disposable.

Media proxification is leading to a fascist kaleidoscope of climate crisis entropy triggered by Covid, woke supremacy & ok Karen QAnon echo chambers.

In the end we will scream and beg for a leader who can save us from oursleves.

Increasingly having independent opinion in a mainstream media environment which mostly echo one another has become more important than ever, so if you value having an independent voice – please donate here.

  1. “After each great pandemic in history there has been an enormous civil disruption. Ours is starting now.”

Let’s wrap it all up in a “Massive Public ‘Colour’ Protest Come Free For All” and call it a ‘Revolution!’

    It’s what the people want!

      • You’ll need a new new deal. One that isn’t based on a high home ownership rate. A deal done with the Devil, those pesky billionaires. And you’ll probably need Winston to negotiate that so we can get that heavily avoided tax system under control.

    • We the left are not all the same and neither are those in the right the same but we bloody better come together if you morons knows what’s fucken good for you. Got it?

I’ve been reading Bomber for 25yrs and he gets things broadly correct. This is the first blog in a very serious matter and do I think it makes sense to bring The National and Labour Party into the civilised world were we speak different to each other, much more different than we have been firstly by comparing health systems with a 2 track waiting list, one for the public interest (disability, babies ECT and the elderly) and another private insurance for the workforce and so ons.

Of the best performing corona nation in the world we must begin to institutionalize our corona responses into the normal. By now the decisions made under corona are not new anymore and we have to write them down somehow so that the decisions that has to be made moving forward are less Kris Faafoi and more second nature.

  2. You ok Martyn?
    I don’t think it’s that bad yet.
Agree that identity politics is extremely caustic and not a good thing especially for stressed locked down people.
But we can also be too negative when talking politics all day everyday-which is a cynical profession, it doesn’t hurt to remember the basic decency of most people in times of crisis.

  3. That trickle-down joke is good. But sad.

Covid has f***** with us in so many ways. The privations of lockdown have messed with people’s heads, and made us more vulnerable to extreme ideas, hysteria and paranoia.

  4. It’s 10.04pm and the all blacks played well and won. I’ve just read Martyn’s post as I lay in bed. Sleep isn’t an option now. Martyn’s mind must be a nightmare for him to live with. I’d like to think our future will be less chaotic than his imagination suggests. His ideas are plausible but can exist only in an over active mind like his. You need to rest Martyn. I’m sure all the other actors in your political nightmare are resting for now.

  5. Interestingly enough the film Soylent Green is set in 2022, so that’s something to look forward to. Check it out on Netflix if you want to see a 1970’s take on what the “future” would be like. Happy times ahead.

    • That was a great film. Saw it when it first came out. Have never forgotten it and can see a time when it’s contents may come to pass.

      • We saw it ages ago at one of Ant Timpson’s Incredibly Strange Film Festivals. Only really remembered the “secret ingredient” bit, so it was quite interesting to rewatch it in light of where we seem to be heading.

  6. For someone as arrogant and opinionated as me I surprise myself for choosing not to go anywhere near ‘social media’. What a dull minded, evil little thing it is judging from what little I know about it?
I have almost no interest in what the hoi polloi are thinking, consuming, shitting out or fucking.
Individually, I’ll show care and restraint but collectively? That, is a whole other matter.
Give me the company of vegetables and wee beasties any fucking day of the week.
Terminal fools are everywhere which is why I try to not go there, to where they are.
Here’s a piece by a fellow whom I greatly admire. William Burroughs.

Is it a paradox? That the greatest strength of a chain is found in its weakest link? So, what then if the weakest link of human kind is in the majority of humanity who have the strength in their numbers?
For those of us who must lament and wail and bemoan our piss poor luck for the state of our only planet and its idiot human passengers whom we must share it with then surely we can comfort ourselves by understanding that all this, and that too, shall pass? I’ll call it The Great Kidney Stone Paradox.
    Here’s a film I really enjoyed: Don’t worry. It’s a comedy.

Ever since I watched ‘Zack and Miri Make a Porno’ I’ve been a bit of a fan of Seth Rogan.

    • I’m sorry to inform you Countryboy but you are engaging very actively in social media by expressing yourself most eloquently on the Daily Blog comments sections. Comments on blog pages and news web pages are very much a part of the social media landscape. And despite Bomber’s protestations against such platforms he entertains one exactly here. Marvelous stuff really, I enjoy reading these pages for the mad cross section of crazy opinions from the entire spectrum of craziness, very much of it frustratingly misinformed, some of it sharp and perceptive. But it is easy to discern the thwarted writers amongst them who obviously struggle to find an alternative creative outlet, and who prefer to hide behind a pseudonym for lack of confidence or whatever. As much as I enjoy your entertaining and imaginatively verbose wordplay Countryboy, I would recommend you attempt to find a wider audience for your writing by starting your own blog or publishing a book of memoirs. Personally, I would like to read it and I think you would make a valuable contribution to the culture of our beautiful Aotearoa.

  7. It’s hard to reconcile concern about hate speech law limiting free speech with concern about social media enabling free speech.

But it’s not hard to reconcile fear of social media leading to entrenched political division with validation of the replacement of democracy by a one party state dictator. Do you want Xi’s phone number?

  8. You forgot the death cult’s neo-colonial levels of immigration that make other countries look positively tame and less insane… there is no “we” and No Zealand.

  9. This is strong stuff and as someone who has been watching politics and comments for some time, it is relevant. However it is important that we try and dodge around obstacles, find a way to be caring, strong humans and look for others who have similar integrity. And bring forward positive projects, ideas people are trying and have a sense of humour that laughs at ourselves a bit, not much at others.

    You mention these things:
Vulnerable communities angry that their well being is collateral damage for the rich.
A distrust of Authority while being utterly dependent upon them.
Social isolation and a growing sense of dislocation.
Qanon lunatics who are impossible to be reasoned with alongside Woke lynch mobs on never ending cancellation purges.
The poor whose poverty has become survival level subsistence.

It’s depressing, especially as it drags on and seems hard to change. Perhaps some satire? Can we cope with Tom Lehrer’s slap-stick? On google one listing says about his religion, ““His parents were ethnically, but not religiously, Jewish.” He lets fly with his thoughts about everything, and makes us gasp and laugh at how things often are and not what we want them to be. For instance about ‘National Brotherhood Week’.
