Dear Katy, it is hard to write a comment to your article because of the visible and tangible suffering that pops out from the page when I see the pictures of Eddy and read your anguished story. I believe you are right, medicinal cannabis being a feminist issue and a forced poverty issue when it costs $600 for a little bottle. Ms Ardern probably spends more on her tooth whitener. I hear stories of impossible standards with changing goal posts and endless procrastination on issuing licenses to manufacture in this country. The arrests of green fairies and elderly pensioners, heroes like Jason Tong, make criticisms of countries like North Korea seem farcical really. That a referendum on legalising cannabis was so so close and then dismissed by the health minister tells me that corporate interests want to ratchet up the prices to this fabled $600/bottle.
That your shipment was “destroyed by customs” tells me that it was possibly tested first and possibly tested a lot by quite a few people.
Recent studies on how hospitals and clinics take womens’ pain less seriously than mens’ pain tells me that despite us having a lovely female PM with many female ministers (sorry, not you Andrew) the reality is shown here:https://www.bloomberg.com/graphics/2019-highest-paid-ceos/
The double standards set by our partying politicians (Obama’s party no masks and weed for example) celebrities who jet in on a whim whilst bereaved parents are denied travel, are not conducive to confidence.
I wish you and Eddy all the best and hope you can find some humanity within or without the health system. My condolences to Charlie’s family.
(I clicked on that link and read that Northland police poisoned a huge crop of weed. As people are so poor and desperate this means there will be poisoned tinnies on the market, No doubt this is a big joke to police who only get the best weed but will drive the man/woman on the street to opt for methamphetamine)
My condolences to Charlie’s family. God bless you Katy and Eddy and Harry.

  3. Didn’t realise there was any moderation on TDB. A compliment to you.

I want you to argue direct, uncompromising, against ‘freedom’. It’s the word of the freemarket plutes who’ve delivered us to the edge of extinction and still want to carry on in control of the world. I have a brother bat-shit crazy about it — these useful idiots for the dusk-bringers in the dawn of us. Confront this rather than encouraging it. Freedom comes from people-rule, or nowhere.
