CCP at 100 – how does NZ celebrate?

Lot of talk around the Chinese Communist Party’s 100 birthday seems to revolve around celebrating China lifting 800million out of poverty, which sounds impressive, but is it?

Sure, China have managed to pull approximately 750m-850m of its own citizens out of living on $1.90 a day, that’s impressive b-u-t when you consider that a vast number of those living in poverty were due to the CCPs own ideological self-mutilations, it’s a tad twee to boast lifting the masses out of a poverty you caused.

You can’t set fire to your own house, wait for the embers to go cold and then declare you are proudly house fire free.

So let’s just park all the grand proclamations of lifting hundreds of millions out of a poverty the CCP helped generate.

The other markers of a 100 year review don’t bode well either. The madness and trauma of the Cultural Revolution, the online mass surveillance, the body organs harvesting of dissidents, the oppression of Tibet, Tiananmen, the appalling human rights abuses, the cultural genocide of the Uyghur’s, the territory theft in the South China Sea and the repression in Hong Kong.

Compare that cons list with the pros list comprising of pretty dubious claims of lifting people out of self induced economic misery and it’s not much of a birthday party.

Our complex relationship with China is actually very simple. We are desperate to sell basic bitch milk powder and China is rich enough to exploit our desperation in the hope of gaining what they really want – our water.

China buys the National Party out and buys the Labour Party out so as to keep their interests safe.

Culturally National never talk about Chinese influence because their farmer, banker and speculator voters need that Chinese money and the Left don’t talk about Chinese influence because it’s xenophobic.

We need to decouple urgently from China economically while acknowledging China’s main influence in our country is through intimidation of their diaspora living here. As the recent investigation into Chinese spies in our Universities highlights, NZ culture needs to embrace and connect with our Chinese-New Zealand community so that they feel more loved by us than fear CCP activists.

Biden’s Intelligence report into the Wuhan Lab leak theory will be out within 2 months. A flash point in geopolitics is possibly looming between China and America and we must endeavor to chart an independent position that protects NZs interests because no one else will.

Increasingly having independent opinion in a mainstream media environment which mostly echo one another has become more important than ever, so if you value having an independent voice – please donate here.

  1. How does NZ celebrate – criminalising freedom of speech like China!

Selling off our country to China and making it the toxic waste centre of the Pacific so China can make more money here from increasing waste and then taking it to the cheapest, stupidest country – yep that’s NZ with labour and greens in charge, signing off the consents for them to acquire the land and then hiding behind ‘the law’ which they could change if they wanted to, but didn’t.

  2. Many in China conflate the CCP with China itself. When people refer to the Chinese government they shouldn’t say ‘China’ but the ‘Chinese Communist Party’ or ‘CCP’

The CCP is the problem. China’s attitude toward the CCP is a part of the solution. The CCP needs the population’s support and that of the PLA (military), which is comprised mostly of Chinese citizens

    • Good points, A Chinese. The problem is that the CCP seems to have so much control on Chinese companies and how they operate in China and internationally, as well as a huge hold of Chinese citizens around the world and a growing amount of politicians and other influential people.

CCP going into NZ universities and photographing the Chinese students is pretty chilling and threatening. Many Chinese students have family still in China and can be manipulated or are too scared to not comply with any requests. Not just the government, but the gangs like triads. There is also a wave of Chinese nationalism a foot.

Power is always a difficult thing to control, I don’t think that everything the CCP do is bad, but I think the level of control and reach is dangerous especially in NZ and to Chinese ethnic people and seeking control and access to key people here like politicians and local government.

We have 5 million and already over 20% of Kiwis are new to NZ and not born here or being raised by ethnic Kiwi’s, how do you stop simply being engulfed with another totalitarian style of government/culture here which is happening already with voting? You only need to be resident in NZ one year to vote here and change policy which is clearly a major security threat to NZ. Our politicians can be influenced to sell list MP seats for as little as $100k.

Auckland which controls 30% of voting in NZ, has a mass exodus of existing NZ citizens who simply have been forced out by government policy that documented in 2011

“Mayor Len Brown’s Auckland is predicted to have a majority Asian, largely Chinese, population by 2040, with the existing long standing European ethnic and cultural base becoming a minority. This means that a very large percentage of Auckland’s projected 2.1 million population will have a short working history in this country with low associated tax and Kiwisaver contributions, and a rapidly escalating number of older people moving onto New Zealand Superannuation with no contribution coming from their original home countries.”

The exodus from Auckland has been planed for a decade, that is not an accident but a decade of policy to create this with all the problems to social welfare like pensions and taxes, that will create.

Already democracy is alarmingly declining in NZ and totalitarianism, ideology and surveillance from NZ government growing. People are not being listened to, there is only faux consultation operating in NZ on every aspect of life here.

The sad thing about migration is when the migrants leave for a better life, only to instead replicate the disasters and poor lifestyle they were trying to avoid.

      • Most governments are basically authoritarian. That is representative democracy. The party with the majority makes the rules. Some direct democracy would be good, if done right

      • The problem for most in the West is that the information given is a mixture of that filtered through Reuters / USA and straight lies from various politicians.
China was very poor, colonised by several Western nations including the UK, USA and a handful of the usual Euro powers.
When the Japaneses occupied China things were bad but the Chinese were sick of being exploited by other countries hence the will to throw out anything that resembled foreign influence.
Giant strides were made politically and eventually economically marred by some mistakes and three + years of floods and droughts, now forming a base for Western Propaganda about the CCP management.
Show me a government that hasn’t made mistakes. NZ and Australia have a legacy of racist land grabs with a suffering underclass remaining today.
Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Iraq and several others have sufferered under US/ NZ/ UK/ Australian bombing and genocide yet none of those countries did a thing against the so called “Allies” except refuse to be occupied by invading forces and resource stripping.
Under the CCP the Chinese life expectancy has more than doubled.

In India a private British company “The East India Company” ruled India with the British tax payers help. That company taxed India to the tune of $US43 trillion dollars in today’s money and caused starvation of Many hundreds of thousands while the British Queen grew rich as a major shareholder, The East India company also forced their way into China bringing more misery.
        Read about the Opium Wars.
What Kiwis need is a wider perspective not based on current propaganda and US / UK campaign to create unrest with false news.
The opening Photo with tanks and one protestor is linked to a narrative of lies about the event and the foreign input to the unrest days before.
Read all you can but don’t swallow the glib Reuters skewed “News” that is seldom a wider picture and rarely cites hard evidence from reputable sources.

        • The problem for most in China is that the information given is a mixture of that filtered through CGTN / CCP and straight lies from various CCP politicians

  3. When Britian left India they had exploited it so hard that Life expetency was between 27=31 years and the illiteracy rate was over 85% It was rooted.

WWII staeted early for China and finished later. When they finally kicked out the Japanese Invaders and the Usa sponsored Nationalists,,,, their exploited and poor country had been pummeled and raped by war for about 10 years.

Both countries were rooted but China having defeated the Usa Nationalists were punished with Cuba like trade embargoes / sanctions,,,,, that lasted until the 1970.s when Nixon finally lifted them

The CCP has a membership of over 90 Million and made a decision to eliminate poverty for their peopele and the 800 Million lifted out of poverty is good but also misleading,,,, as it implys that their could be 600 Million still in poverty out of their population of 1.4 Billion.

In fact they were down to lifting their last 100 Million out of poverty around 2010 ,,, and their last 20 Million when Covid hit.

    Compare that to India.

Also compare the treatment and dangers to Muslims by the Indian Govt / politicians compared to China ,,, Modi incited a rampage / pogram killing up to 10,000 Muslims when he was a state Governor.

An alliance which will kill a child every 5 or 10 minutes, year after year, for money and ‘influence’ , and which we are part of, is Barbaric.

Fighting corruption which NZ is still soft on is the best thing we could do to help China with one of its problems , along with the rest of the world, Corruption.

Regarding our Dirty Politics Media and China.

“the extremely flimsy and blatantly manipulated evidence we’ve seen so far for western claims of “genocide” and “crimes against humanity” should draw immediate incredulity from anyone who remembers the lead-up to the Iraq invasion. The only sane response to unfounded claims by known liars is skepticism and agnosticism until we are presented with proof that rises to the level required in a post-Iraq invasion world.”

“a leaked 2017 State Department memo confirmed that the United States has a standing policy of using allegations of human rights violations as a bludgeon against nations like China while ignoring known human rights violations ((by itself) and against member states of the empire.”

    • The CCP sure do know they and their actual history are a pile of crap (that they have to cover up)

  4. An ex army boss of mine said 15 or so years ago that these University’s were being quietly infiltrated by Chinese communist party spies. He wasn’t wrong. Perhaps more effort needs to go into trade with Russia and Europe as a buffer against being so vulnerable to CCP whims. That was something Winston Peters said some time ago and I believe him to be right in this case.

    • NZ is a pert of the biggest global spy ring collecting data from on line, telephone conversations linking in with the CIA, Satellite images, illegal interrogation and the giant US based data collection fed by all media, personal tracking, camera networks and the 5 eyes network.
A few people allegedly attending university lectures to collect data is just a laugh that the CIA asset Ann – Marie Brady is promoting using fear and suspicion but no hard data worth considering.

    • When NZ joined 5 Eyes then little public opposition to this spying was apparent so systematic spying must be OK.
What is good for the goose. must be OK for others as well or are we that bias that we are blind to that.
The NZ immigration policy and the sale of land in in the NZ Govts hands not China’s.
Unless you see fit to believe in corruption of out leaders which is highly likely with johnkey’s performance in several areas including ignoring well run referendum that he ignored and sold off out family silver to his international investor mates.

  5. We’ll be getting back to the “reds under the bed” Muldoon days of the 1970’s. Remember Muldoon terminated the super fund because in the future the Labour Govt may buy up businesses and create a communist state. His budget gave farners 50 cents per sheep and $1 per cow. What a lot of foolish people there were around then particularly my Farmer friends, who were really worried about the commos. I think people are more informed these days.

  6. Let’s not be too anthropocentric about the horrors of the CCP. Though there is no country on Earth that can boast to be cruelty free towards its animals, China is certainly up there in the cruelty stakes. The Yulin dogmeat festival, fish processing superships, shark fin soup, the wet markets, bear bile farming.
As with all countries, the contradictions and hypocrisy are horrendous. The Panda is their poster boy for conservation of course; https://www.ecowatch.com/china-giant-pandas-endangered-conservation-2653730447.html
    But the poor old Chinese Moon Bear doesn’t get the same treatment, far from it. Bile farming is arguable the worst cruelty a living being can be subjected to;
