Labour: Middle class party pills sweet as, working class cannabis bad

So the drug of choice for the middle classes, party pills are sweet as…

Govt wants drug-checking services around the whole country – but no Govt funding yet

Health Minister Andrew Little wants drug-checking services to be widely and equitably available – but is yet to commit any Government funding to see this realised.

…but working class stoners are bad while medicinal cannabis providers are being targeted…

Police persecute medicinal cannabis suppliers – this isn’t the kindness or reform we were promised!

Police have been under fire for raiding and prosecuting people using and producing medicinal cannabis products – but the blame lies squarely with politicians writing bad laws.

…and mothers of children who need the medicine are stranded…

My heart is pounding out of my chest as we 3 blink down fat tears into Eddy’s 5th seizure tonight.  He mewls weakly, floppy-limbed, white-lipped and slumps into my arms.  I can still hear the echoes of the deep aching sobs he cried before bed, terrified of the seizures he knew he would have tonight.  The heart-wrenching grief that he would inevitably be woken by pain and suffocation, that he might not wake up tomorrow. If you heard those sobs, you would never hear another child squeal without a deathly reminder of our haunting maybes.

…why the hell are the politicians still dragging their feet on this!

Meanwhile more deaths from synthetic cannabis which we wouldn’t be having if the real stuff was legal!

Labour have to show the same leadership for working class cannabis as  they have on middle class drugs like Party Pills.

  1. Still refusing to accept the referendum result….how many people/organisations/countries have you blamed for the result, you didnt want, now?
I voted yes, but result didnt go my way, but i dont dwell on it and masquerade it as ‘racist’

    • Actually, as Andrew Little said the result was about 50 50 (67000 more votes from an aging and dying demographic – cannabis prohibitionists). So the issue has not been resolved at all. Prohibitionists need to understand tolerance and a so called supporter of reform like yourself needs to improve your thinking.

      • Irrespective if the No vote was won by 10 votes or 100,000, the referendum result was voted on and the No vote won!
Its called democracy, Martyn has thus far blamed USA, MSM bias, Christians, people over 45, right wing supporters…apologies if I have missed any out as there are many.

If the left dont like a result, its never a ‘clean’ result, its always someone elses fault and never that their view is a minority one and the majority voted against their ideals.

  2. I am still having problems with accepting the National government legalized synthetics and too many people got hooked at least twenty or more died and nek minute it was outlawed. And now the current government has provided a checking system for middle class people to ensure their pill popping is safe, don’t you think there is some irony in these actions or lack of action by both these political parties or are you too bias to see cause your always right, Im right, RIGHT, nah!

  3. I’m pretty sure Anaru is taking the ‘med’s’ he’s prescribing for all?

With the pending outcome of the Ngati Whatua Orakei v Marutuahu, Crown Appeals case that has just finished a week ago … he’s gunnah have to take heaps of ‘Meds’ to figure out he’s gunnah deal with another series of Treaty Greiviances his officials have made. They’ve got a head start on taking the unprescribed meds I bet.

  4. If the 1 million Kiwis who voted for it refuse to support the Government (vote for them) in the next election, then the Government will make cannabis legal…Why? Because that 1 million voters were Labour/Greens voters…If the Government gets voted out over Cannabis, Labour will make it legal next election…
Never let our MPs forget — we are their bosses — fulfill our wishes — or find another career.

  5. Please stop the stereotyping. I suppose I’m middle class. I’m not a stoner. I’ve never had a”party pill” in my life. But I also know that cannabis relieves me of a whole lot of pain. And for kids and adults who need cannabis products for such things as Parkinsons and epilepsy – let’s get it out of the hands of Big Pharma so it is affordable for ordinary people. Referendum be damned.

  7. Before the election we were having huge issues with the cost and availability of cannabis products, all the politicians jumped on board and made bold promises, palliation AND pain, but after, what a pile of rubbish, just covers palliation and not those supplying it. a medicinal scheme where the licenses are too expensive, the requirements too extensive and subsequently its only rich people involved. A GMP process thats just going to jack the price right up and here we are still with no products on the market.
The referendum was a joke, the govt let those right wing religious nutters spread their misinformation and we subsequently lost. Even the review just released today fails to even mention it, its been a white wash right from the get go, we have been given the run around and now they are dumping us.
Labour isnt any different to the way National treats people now, I just dont see the point in voting anymore, they’re all just a bunch of narcissists.

  8. Middle class since ’84 when their main working class member was a baronet.

Now, I’m middle class but I remember I’m a Welfare State middle classer. Virtually none of my generation remembers that, though instantly, when I remind them.
