National is bitching about due process?
Labour used urgency to close a racist loophole being exploited by reactionary pakeha to deny Māori local representation.
National used urgency to ram through mass surveillance powers that enabled the GCSB and via them, every other State agency to spy directly on the citizens of New Zealand.
Don’t dare lecture me about fucking due process!
What is most eye rolling is that this is coming from Christopher Luxon, who as CEO of Air NZ, was in charge when they were repairing military hardware for a regime charged with war crimes!!!

The naked racism this debate is exposing and attempting to exploit is despicable.
This country was founded on a Treaty, much of the time Pakeha and the Crown have ignored their obligations, Labour are trying to right that by ensuring those white angry reactionary forces don’t continuously use the tyranny of the majority via a loophole to push anti-Māori petitions to stamp out that representation.
Painting that attempt as a hijacking of local democracy is the type of toxic politics Trump championed.

“I’m not being lectured by a CEO who cleans the blood off military equipment for disgusting regimes about due fucking process!” Don’t forget to mention that this reprehensible individual also oversaw a massive downgrading of Air NZ’s customer service to a third rate cattle transporter, while cutting “costs” in bio-security, and reducing the number of baggage handlers, support staff, and outsourcing food delivery to a fourth rate outfit (most likely owned by one of his congregation) that passengers are now forced to pay over the price of already increased ticket prices if they want even a drink of water in flight… This is the man who has helped keep coronavirus on our streets, and in our houses… The fact that the ragged collection of rejects that comprise the colonial party are confident of getting the redneck lobby in NZ to support this dross is a poor reflection on just how far away from the fantasy of egalitarianism NZers are… And they have the perfect vehicle in the colonial privilege party.. Racist, and proud of it…
As a Pakeha I can not understand why so many of my brethren get so hysterical at a peaceful solution to colonial grievances.
Quick history lesson:
Fact: The idea of Maori seats in Parliament were intended as a gerrymander by North Island politicians to offset the increased number of voters after the South Island Gold rushes. The original idea was that Europeans would represent Maori in parliament.
Long story short; Maori successfully took control and used this representation to address their grievances in parliament and win concessions at times when governments depended on the support of the four Maori members.
The sun and the moon continued to rise and the Pakeha majority contined to prosper but the Maori parliamentary seats are continously criticised as giving some sort of unfair advantage to Maori that somehow harms Pakeha.
Fact: In 1977 There was finally some recognition of the Treaty of Waitangi and the Waitangi Tribunal was established. ITS ONLY POWER IS TO MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS.
Despite this there was an outpouring of venom that Pakeha homeowners would awake in the morning to find local Maori occupying their front lawns.
Here we are in 2021 and most of us have not been murdered in our beds or had Tame Iti confiscate our property. I personally believe much racial tension has been successfully defused.
Can anyone explain to me what exactly we have to fear from increased Maori representation in local government? Will it not actually make our society more just and peaceful?
