Covid-19 coronavirus: Anti-lockdown protesters gather outside PM’s Auckland office
Dozens of people have spent a cold and rainy Auckland day breaching the latest Covid-19 restrictions outside Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern’s Mt Albert electorate office.
The group, appearing to protest a range of topics from the latest restrictions to vaccination efforts and “being silenced” in media reporting, were there for several hours despite the fact that Ardern spent Monday in Wellington.
The protests came as Auckland entered day one of alert level 3 restrictions, and the rest of New Zealand alert level 2, after three cases of the highly-transmissible UK variant of Covid-19 were found in a south Auckland family.

These morons are out online spreading disinformation and playing up all the usual claims of Jacinda’s Socialist Secret Police marching us all into forced vaccinations camps. It would be funny if these clowns didn’t believe it with all the fervour of armed religious zealots on meth.
The SIS should be looking into these people urgently, but this is a reminder that social media has distorted some peoples perception of reality so much so that they are prepared to turn up outside Jacinda’s electorate office with a swastika on her face for fucks sake because they think she’s actually attempting some secret take over of the country.
This is ultimately a failure of public broadcasting and allowing under regulated tech giants to pimp insanity for click profit.

I would think that the fact that we are currently making our planet uninhabitable is proof that when it comes to humans, evolution doesn’t work.
Just some bums with nothing better to do. Why don’t they find a good reason to protest. Like I don’t know, the raging housing crisis and subsequent homelessness for example.
Sadly our ‘journey’ over the past 3.5 years has lead to this type of individual. So we won’t die from covid but we might die from something like the neglected Cancer we may have and yet we are not being treated nor have we received timely treatment or follow up.
Dead right our healthcare in this country is in fact third world status unless you get carted into a hospital through the back door of A+E by ambulance .

What you say is very true but the arguement for taking the vaccine is that hopefully it will stop the hospitals being overwhelmed if the virus got away like it has in UK and the States.
A better solution would be to spend money on the hospitals . In Chch we have a new building costing $250 million but only money to use half of it despite the old hospital building still unsafe from the earhquake 10 years ago.
I support National but in 9 years they did nothing to improve the health sector and the same story seems ro be happening now under Labour. Unfortunately the bean counters do not change even if the government does so we continue just getting by.
I counted 8 people in the photo. Considering this protest was being held in a Covid-19 alert level 3 lockdown, where as far as I know, gatherings of more than 10 people is not permitted for health and safety reasons. If there were more than 10 people taking part, then the Covid alert level 3 rules were openly flaunted and this situation should have been addressed by the authorities!
I drove past there yesterday and i reckon there was about forty people there. Problem is though, if the Police try to move them on, the protestors will scream police state and burrow even further down their rabbit holes.
The locals played death metal to deter them.
