  1. Glass bottles and service is Back (but only in Raglan).
Raglan milk delivery company goes from strength to strength

Then, the Hill family produced 30 litres of drinking milk a week and delivered it to local customers. Now they bottle and deliver 5000 litres – in one-litre bottles – from the west coast to the east coast.

Their website has a rolling tally of the number of plastic milk bottles they’ve saved from recycling or landfill – over 150,000 and counting.

  2. Property investors ‘working hard, taking risks’ – or are they?

OPINION: Reading about Christchurch property investor and influencer Ana Meredith’s “journey” towards owning 25 rentals by 2025 this week made me feel two things that shouldn’t go together in one stomach – sick for the future of first-home buyers, and hungry to get some of those juicy tax-free capital gains she was promoting.

    • It’s obscene and this so called Labour government doesn’t have the balls to do anything about it. And what’s this dumbass new word “influencer”? For goodness sake let’s call them out for what they are.

  3. Dowry Scams and Bigamy is not a crime in NZ. Another quality (sarcasm) migrant and quality (sarcasm) lawyer operating in NZ.

“A lawyer who married a woman and got her pregnant, despite already having a wife, has avoided being convicted of bigamy.

His second wife now lives in social disharmony in India, caring for the child, while the father remains conviction-free in New Zealand

Judge Lance Rowe granted Akashdeep Singh Gill a discharge without conviction in the Palmerston North District Court on Friday on a charge of bigamy.

The marriage had cost her financially, physically, mentally and emotionally.

She spent her savings on wedding expenses and was unsure how she would pay for the costs coming out of her illicit marriage.

She had no idea why he left to go back to New Zealand and suffered social stigma being a single mother in India.

“He doesn’t realise what he has done to me and my child.”

One point of contention, which threatened to have the sentencing put off, was the woman’s dowry.

She said she paid $16,450 cash, 500 grams of gold and jewellery and a diamond ring as her dowry – all things she wanted back from Gill.

But police prosecutor Sergeant Kevin Anstis said it would be almost impossible for police to prove the contents of the dowry.’

  4. for 7 * weeks air / nz have been refusing to give 1 news an answer

    – alot can be done in that amount of time – like the completion of a repair / contract / funds transfer / material exchange

someone needs to be sacked for the stalling and withholding of information , industrial espionage and treason wouldn’t be off the table either .

    this is bullshit

  5. The old “Operational Matter” strikes again.
Air New Zealand contracts to the Saudi Military.
Its Masters of the Universe duck for cover and look for where to wriggle.
Never mind though eh? Processes and Procedures will be reviewed and updated no doubt – so that’s alright then.

Renationalise the thing! Bye bye CEO and whoever made the decision, failing to inform the transformational and kind shareholding Munster. Confiscate a couple of A320s, and even a 777 to replace the Airforce 757s and second some staff to the Airforce for training and operation to boost its capacity. There’s already been enough public money tipped into the outfit and they’re simply playing the public and Ao/NZ’s reputation for suckers.

And on other matters, its a year since the RNZ fiasco:
    https://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/HL2102/S00025/a-classic-blunder-the-sequel-part-one.htm

Where the fuck to begin!! I suppose the uni-tasker Fa-fa-fa-aaaaafoi is waiting for several “pieces of work” to be completed before starting to make one or two decisions in this space going forward while balancing the interests of various stakeholders (no doubt except the public) in this space going forward.

There appears to be something magical about FM radio frequencies and assets – once owned by the public to be used in their interests, but surrendered SOLELY for the purpose of commercial gain.

Earth to Labour. The natives are getting restless – OVER

  6. Was it Robertson who told the media it was ‘operational’? Why the hell wouldn’t you take responsibility (or at least take interest) in this revelation when the government (New Zealanders) owns 52% of Air NZ? Are government ministers now just going to pull the ‘operations’ card when something goes wrong in their agencies? I saw Air NZ CEO Foran say on Breakfast this morning that he had no knowledge of the turbine maintenance deal (the Air NZ website states that the technical department is the major supplier of parts for the turbines). It seems heat from the dirty deal was first diverted to ‘operations’ by Robertson (dressed in a high viz vest and earmuffs, using those fluoro air marshalling wands), then accountability was further diverted by Foran into a disused airport shed down the back for hibernation (he suggested the contract was established ‘further down’ in the Air NZ hierarchy).

    • Yes it was Robertson.
      Cudda Shudda Wudda just said:
“I wasn’t aware of the contract”
      “I’m disappointed”
      “I am seeking more information”
      and left it at that.
      Instead
It’s an operational matter, and I’ll be consulting with my ‘officials’ – the ones that scratch each others’ backs and whose main purpose is self-survival (in this space, going forward, rhubarb rhubarb rhubarb. And I probably need to check out a few things first – like whether or not they ……… no I’ll leave it at that for now because what plays in Vegas, stays in Vegas.)
      Fuck ’em
